I want to switch over to this ROM but I'm currently on your CM7 build with data2ext. Is there any way to switch over to this ROM but keep all my apps on data2ext? Or does this mean that I have to reformat my SD etc etc. I never knew what to do when switching ROMs if data2ext was enabled and would like to know. Thanks.

Technically this ROM supports data2ext, so take a chance and flash it, it won't hurt your SD-EXT partition, if it doesn't support your SD-EXT, try the Mounts2SD mount that I made compatible with this ROM somewhere in the forums here.

EDIT: Kraven, Can you pull e2fsck from a Xonia Recovery image and add that to your ZIP, the current e2fsck binary that you release inside the update doesn't work for this architecture and gives a Illegal Instruction error before terminating which causes some Apps2SD mods to either refuse to mount sd-ext or simply hang the boot.

To do this what steps do I have to take exactly? Should I just data2ext --disable from adb, flash the new ROM and enable it? Or would I have to retake all the steps such as flashing the data2ext file and inputting all the commands into adb again? Thanks for the response.

EDIT: also what is the difference between mounts2SD and data2ext?

Unfortunately for me alpha 8 is one step forward and one step back. The mute button now works (thanks!) but the phone doesn't recognize my headset. This is now my new deal breaker issue. I would gladly substitute headset for bluetooth, but I definitely need one of them.

This is a really great ROM and I am looking forward to having it be fully functional! Thanks for the hard work, kraven!

What do you need to accomplish by swapping kernels? (Aren't you building one by the way? You mentioned it here)

Tried this last night on my ZVD phone for first time, been running sRom for long time. Looks great, runs decent and generally had very few issues, but installed it because the changelog for A7 (and assuming A8) said that tether was enabled. I use phone as hotspot for my ICS Touchpad and it's a must have. Am I missing something or do I need to install a different kernel to get the hotspot working? Didn't seem to want to fire up even after few reboots. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Notification area toggles (airplane mode, data) aren't working very well. Sometimes they're fine, sometimes they (airplane mode in particular) just won't function. I NEED that "airplane mode" for the Toggle Dance!

I just saw that too. This one is tricky as there's 100 new cm9 commits to go thru. . More than likely its in the frameworks or settings.apk

I just installed this, and it is by far my favorite ROM.
Just two complaints:
Camera won't work (I saw it was an issue in earlier builds, but 8 is kinda far in.)
And the Gallery app closes when I go to save a cropped picture.

If MMS doesn't work. I know some guy creating the ICS rom for thunderbolt took the mms.apk from the nexus and did some stuff to it and got MMS to work.

My MMS worked once or twice using Handcent. It was pretty darned random. I totally got a sexy picture out of it, though, so :thumbsup:

has it worked for you since a5v12? that was last iv been able to a8 is at least trying though.

The third party message apps still have to interface with the ROM data link for full MMS compatability. Nothing will bypass that. So Go SMS and Handcent will not work for MMS until native CM9 messaging works. You can use the internet messaging ability, but that only works if others use GoSMS (that is what I use in CM7), maybe true for Handcent too?
