Re: [WIP][ROM]COLD AS ICE-CM9 Sprint LS670 4/5 ZVD basesband Alph
So.
- backup
- wipe system/data/cache
- flash alpha9
- flash alpha9 powerkey fix
- flash 3/17 gapps
- advanced restore data
Initial thoughts & observations:
Wifi worked straight out of the box, though didn't give me blue bars. Turned wifi off, 3G connected immediately, again without blue indicator bars. Looks like the Toggle Dance may finally be obsolete.
Phone froze when I went to "Accounts & sync" to add my Google account. (The "one time" setup didn't run.) Seems to be because I flashed gapps before restoring data; flashing gapps again fixed that right up. (The "one time" didn't run, but I was able to add my account.)
Huh. Blue bars are back after gapps flash/reboot. Toggles seem to be working. GPS seems pretty speedy. 3G apparently still sometimes needs a toggle, but not the full Toggle Dance to get going when wifi is disabled.
Looking forward to a day's use with this ROM so it can get settled in. I really hope the clock issues are fixed; having the clock decide that it just wasn't going to update once the phone's screen was off for ten or fifteen minutes was a real pain in the arse.
Further observations:
Homescreen shortcuts for several installed apps (Maps, Trillian, Wikidroid) are displaying default Android icon instead of their respective icons; apps run just fine despite this. Running apps or rebooting phone doesn't change behavior; shortcuts must be removed from homescreen and re-added.
Google Play Music completely unwilling to even try playing songs on 3G. Attempts make app FC.
3G stays connected, but seems slow as Christmas. Streaming music still largely a fool's errand, even without 3G disconnections. Cache that music, kids.
