[ROM]GB 2.3.4 gingerbread-evo-deck [1.0][2.3.3 Stable][1.2c][2.3.4 Beta]

Does anybody know if you can use the sense keyboard with decks ROM. I really like that keyboard. If so where would the download be for it.

Ok. Read through this thread awhile back. Forgive me for not wanting to re-read 57 pages. But, how do I fix the MMS issue with Deck's ROM?

Your current kernel will be overwritten with the one that is included with the ROM. As long as you are running a Gingerbread compliant AOSP Kernel (TIamat, SavagedZen. . .) you can flash those after you have flashed the ROM. I don't know of any batch restore with Titantium, but I use the free version.

This is the order I plan to do things after my EVO charges back up.

1. Make app backups with Titanium Backup
2. Reboot into Recovery and make a Nandroid Backup
3. Wipe caches
4. Flash ROM
5. Flash Gapps
6. Boot normally
7. Restore apps with Titanium Backup
8. Decide if I like include Kernel and flash SavagedZen if I decide I like it better.

I am super new to all this, but where do I find the Gapps to flash it? I found the ROM zip on my SD Card, but where is gaps and the kernal?

If you got it from the website the gapps file was directly under the ROM file. I'm running it myself at the moment. You don't need the kernal unless you want it. It's on a different thread

Deck's battery life has been at least on par with CM7, today was my first time away from a charger the whole day. Lighter use for me than usual, but had a good hour of phone calls, plus sporadic internet and a lot of email.

Impressive. Now stop posting and play your turn on WordFeud!!

Try the keyboards on this link on xda. I usually use the "Custom Black/Blue HTC IME Keyboard" on aosp roms. It doesn't have the arrows, but I still like it better than the aosp keyboard. :)

Has anyone been able to get roaming working on this ROM? I'm a little confused on how to get it working. I used to be able to use Roam Control, but I don't think it's working on this ROM. My service provider always says Sprint. The settings under Mobile Networks are a bit different, too. What's the proper way to set them up to allow you to roam?

From the home screen. Menu --> Settings --> Wireless & Networks --> Mobile Networks...see the below screenshots. :)

Yeah, I finally realized there's no roaming indicator (triangle0 like on Sense, you have to go to the Status screen and then you can see whether or not you're roaming. The only thing I'm experiencing now is signal loss...my signal is 1 bar where before I was getting full bars. :\

Quick fix, just to make sure. Make a nandroid of Decks ROM and restore your Sense backup. Update your PRL and data profile then restore your backup of Decks and you should be good to go. :) Also remember, if this your first time using an AOSP ROM...they show much more accurate signal strength than Sense ROM a do. In fact stock Sense ROMs never show when you enter a 1x area, they will always show your in 3G.

Just switched from cm7 rc1 to this. I'm impressed, it has all the tins I wanted from cm7 and none of the stuff I didn't. Love it!

When I had an EVO I loved Decks ROM! It has amazinf battery life and runs really smooth.

I've seen mention of it in this thread, but has there been a fix for the failed screen start issue? That's probably the only thing I have noticed in using this ROM, and it happens once in every 5-10 times. Pressing the power button lights up the buttons but not the screen, so I have to power off and then on again to use the phone.

I enabled volume button wake and haven't really had any issues since then.

If I'm not mistaken, there has been success using the savage kernel to fix the wake issue.
