[ROM]GB 2.3.4 gingerbread-evo-deck [1.0][2.3.3 Stable][1.2c][2.3.4 Beta]

Re: [ROM]GB 2.3.4 gingerbread-evo-deck [1.0][2.3.3 Stable][1.2c][

That and Tiamat 3.7.7 I've had no problems with!
Heyyyyyyy Camelguy!!!!

Sent from Looney Tunes Central!

What's up man, I finally had a chance to message you back about everything. :)

I've seen mention of it in this thread, but has there been a fix for the failed screen start issue? That's probably the only thing I have noticed in using this ROM, and it happens once in every 5-10 times. Pressing the power button lights up the buttons but not the screen, so I have to power off and then on again to use the phone.

I've actually found that if you just tap the screen when the lights are on at the bottom, it just turns on. I've even swiped down (lens unlock) and the screen pops on unlocked.

Anyone else having GPS issues? I can get an a-gps lock but that's it.

Re: [ROM]GB 2.3.4 gingerbread-evo-deck [1.0][2.3.3 Stable][1.2c][

Once you get it set up, (which is half the fun, admit it) this is the best AOSP ROM I've found.

Re: [ROM]GB 2.3.4 gingerbread-evo-deck [1.0][2.3.3 Stable][1.2c][

Since this ROM has been out for some time without updates, would it be a good idea for me to update my EVO to teh latest build? I'm selling my EVO to my friend and don't want her to have any issues with the phone.

And 1.3d is a very good Tom based off of 2.3.5...I'm running it again...can't get into Sense anymore. Wait a minute....1.3E? I'm all over it!

How's battery on that? I'm on 1.2.1 since I don't have time to keep flashing betas, I'd like a final version of 1.3.

Heck to the yeah...I actually just read a tweet from Kush that he is hard at work bring 1.3 to its final build. Pretty excited I must say. :D As far as battery life goes, I'm not sure...I haven't had this ROM flashed in a while, been using SNS Gingerbread. Loving this sense ROM, don't really know why but I can dig it. I'm gonna start a thread for it here so more people can enjoy it.

My set up has been 1.3e running tiamats latest, 4.08 I believe, setcpu is 245/998 w/smartassV2 governor. I get 22-25 hours with light to moderate use, 12-14 with what i consider heavy use, and upwards of 4 1/2hrs screen on time streaming video or gaming. I've been more than pleased with the speed, lack of lag, and overall quickness of 1.3e. Coming from 1.3d I did nearly immediately flash the gps fix for AOSP Roms, not sure if it was necessary with this release, although I get a full lock in under 2 minutes and am generally accurate to within several yards.
edit: had a typo... gps not goal.. lol

I used to have random reboot issues with deck 2.3.3 . Does anyone knows if he fixed the reboot issues in 2.3.4

Re: [ROM]GB 2.3.4 gingerbread-evo-deck [1.0][2.3.3 Stable][1.2c][

I honestly never ran into that issue on any of Deck's releases, that's quite odd. Have you seen any mention on XDA or PPC geeks of this bug?

I just downloaded this Rom and the market is missing. Did I do something wrong

No worries man, you have to flash the proper Gapps zip in order to have the market. Since Google owns those apps they made it to where you can have them as a flashable add-on but not include them in the ROM. Here are the links you need. The first is for the just the gapps and the second is for the gapps plus Sprint's visual Voicemail app. I recommend the second one myself as I really like Visual Voicemail. Remember though always check the original thread on XDA, you can get there through the OP on this thread.

Gapps with out Visual Voicemail
gapps-20110828.zip

Gapps with Visual Voicemail
gapps-20110828-VM.zip

To flash the gapps of your choice, place the zip on the root of your SD card. Boot into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik cache. Flash the gapps zip and boot the ROM back up. Jump in the accounts sections of settings and log into your Google account and your done. Everything should be good to go after that. Hope that helps. :)

I used to have random reboot issues with deck 2.3.3 . Does anyone knows if he fixed the reboot issues in 2.3.4

Used to run Deck as well. This ROM was running so good, I basically over used the phone...then one day, it started random reboot.

It got worse over time, even after going back to stock.

I don't think it was the fault of the ROM perhaps, but putting too much stress on the phone, cause it was running so good.

At the end, I think I fried one of the components inside (radio/network 3G/4G), and everytime I was using something which requires the use of the network data (over 3G or 4G), it would reboot.

Well, finally brought my phone back to stock, took it to the Sprint store...they've looked at it for couple of hours, determined that my hardware is basically not fixable.

Since it was still under 1 year mfg warranty, they did the exchange right there at the store, and just charged my $35 for a brand new Evo. I think it is pretty good deal for $35, rather than sending it to HTC for replacement.

Now, I want to root it again, but I am kinda afraid that I am going to fry the phone again...

Custom ROMs are awesome, especially Deck's...just don't put too much stress on your phone, or you will probably fry something up inside.

That's my story...to root or not to root is where I am now.

How the hell do you over use your phone. I'm constantly on my phone doing all kinds of things. From talking, to movies, games, alot on tapatalk, Facebook, and alot of web surfing oh and alot of tethering while I'm.using my phone and I have never had any problems out of it. This is pulling 12gigs of data not including wifi time a month. Sounds more like cocky over clocking and or poor treatment of phone. Of course it could have been faulty from the get go too lol.
