Re: [ROM] gROM 1.1 - 9/16/11 - GB 2.3.3 [Official!] It just got r

Seems like I'm the only one not having any problems with Gingerbread. I have even tried to replicate a lot of the bugs people have had and I just can't. Guess I am just lucky. Either way great rom can't wait to see some updates for it.

I have only had a couple reboots when using TuneIn radio app. I'd have to do a battery pull as it sat and "android" loading not doing anything. Other than that, this ROM has been smooth and good.

Good rom, but the only thing I'm having a problem with is that my SD card keeps removing itself and I have to pull it out and put it back in a lot. Do you think this could be a phone problem and not an issue with the rom?

Might be your card. The factory installed one had those issues on stock rom

On My Optiums S, I haven't run a custom ROM before, and I have just reflashed the Stock V9 recovery, because that's what version my phone has been. However, I havent been prompted by the Update message in a while, is there a way i could get it to pop up so i can update to VH? I tried the Updater tool, but it just says that i am up to date.

You can find everything you need right here: http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg-optimus-s-rooting-roms-hacks/119130-how-rooting-ls670zvh.html

You can ask any questions you want about the process in that thread. Everyone in that thread is very helpful (including me). So give it a go. Once you are done and want to comeback and try my ROM then have at it :D

No, far from it man. 90% of this thread are people who did nto follow directions :-X If you follow the directions to a T and you dont use an "un-certified" kernel then this ROM performs nearly flawless. It does have its quirks but Sprint is to blame for that. I am working with what they gave us

Indeed!

That is not a ROM issue. That is a hardware issue with phone or card.

Yep!

Quick question hopefully this group can answer. I'm still having problems getting my audio to come out of the 3.5mm jack when on the phone. Worked fine in all of the 2.2 ROMs. Wanted to see if it was a gROM or 2.3 issue. Can I install the stock Sprint OTA ROM without bricking the phone? Just wanted to see if reverted to stock Sprint GB would resolve the issue. Think it should be fine, but given it contained a radio update I know that makes things a bit more complicated and wanted to ensure things would go smooth. Thanks in advance for the help.

Anyone else notice the icons on the home screen sit higher than they used to with the stock 2.2 and stock 2.3? Attached is a screenshot of my old homescreen and my new one on gROM, notice the spacing between the bottom row of icons to the background and the phone/internet icons? On grom everything sits a little higher up, which causes my two 4x1 widgets (fancy widgets pro 1.0.8 and bilk calendar) at the top to overlap which they didn't do on stock 2.2 and 2.3. Any ideas?

Hmmm, that is odd. I wonder if its the launcher or the OS doing it. It must be the OS because that same launcher is used on my older 2.2 ROMS and no one ever said anything. Could you try to download Go Launcher EX from the market and tell me hwo that performs? Or any other launcher than stock?

Will do. I will report back a little later with the results. One other thing I noticed is with the Market. When I goto "my apps" it lists Google Maps as Not Installed, even though it is installed. Also when I search for some apps it wont let me scroll down the list to find them. EG: I search for "flashlight". Market says there are 2,528 results. But it will only scroll down and show 20 of the results. It doesn't repopulate when you reach the bottom like it should.

Yeah, market is as flaky as a day old croissant. lol

Cool thanks. Not sure if it helps at all, but it also displayed correctly with ADWLauncher.

I was kinda thinking about going with that launcher on the next build actually. I think you made up my mind. Are there any draw backs to using ADW Launcher? I never used it but I know its in CM, I think anyways? I not a big fan of CM.

I use adw ex. The paid one. I like infinite scrolling. Can scroll thru home screens in a loop.

If your going to change the launcher then I'd respectfully like to add my two cents.

Zeam Launcher.

Lightweight, quick, and has all the necessary features. I know for a fact that a lot of people automatically install zeam on a new rom (including myself) because the majority of replies to a launcher thread posted a few days ago vouched for zeam. (Sorry don't have enough time to find the thread.)

Anyway if possible I'd like you to take a look at it before you jump to ADW.

Thanks,
masaharustin

Honestly I've never used a non-stock launcher till now, but so far I am pretty happy with ADW. It's fast, not as big in size as some of the other launchers. As long as it doesn't have any negative effects on battery life I'm pretty happy with it. I'm sure others who have used it longer than a few hours can give a better opinion on it though.
