Re: [ROM] gROM 1.1 - 9/16/11 - GB 2.3.3 - Stuff just got real!

Seems like that would be something to verify before releasing software - good work Sprint.

lol for real

I needed a good laugh today!

Maybe I can fix it. PM me the details of the issue and will look at it.

Re: [ROM] gROM 1.1 - 9/16/11 - GB 2.3.3 - Stuff just got real!

I've gone over 14 hours using gROM 1.0 without charging and I'm still at 56%. This is the best battery life I've ever gotten out of the Optimus S. The speed has been great and there is no need to tweak anything (leave the tweaking for MethRom...) :-!

I agree and would like to see a battery percentage on the icon.Having only the power button wake the phone is a good thing too.

The Theme Team has your theme below!

Re: [ROM] gROM 1.0 - 9/14/11 - g Stands for Gingerbread! - ROMS U

Strangenss thickens! REally? Dude, I am about to tell you something... This is true...

The same thing happened to me when I was swapping out recoveries and radios, etc. I lost my home button and could only use back to get to the home screen. But once again, this went away when I got the radio, the recovery on, did a full wipe and then Flashed. Its been solid since then.

What recovery are you using right this moment with this issue?

Yes we are about to take this puppy off the tracks.... I know.. .Maybe we should go to PM and troubleshoot or Gtalk?

A PM awaits.....Great work by the way!

EDIT - So... I flashed ver. 1.1 and home and search buttons work. USB still not working, but I'll just load the drivers. Thanks again.

I am going to give this a shot this weekend. Are there any issues?

Did you already update to ZVH? There are some issues:
1: keys double pressing
2. Not OC'ed (Drew's kernel is though)
3. People complaining about poor 3G connections(none at all in some cases)
4. Keyboard auto correct does not work correctly
Update as you can see has a few bugs. (Not a rom problem though)

sent from my CM7/Reborn w/ 1 Gb internal storage Optimus S

Always happy to help, hit that thanks button if I did

I use Swiftkey X.

I do have the V8 LCD.

If I get to ZVH and don't like it will flashing a nandroid of ReBorn restore the VD radio?

I tried to go back because of the flaky, super sensitive touchscreen. All my apps worked, just no cell connection :/

You would need to revert back to ZVD WITH KP500.

I would just add a word of caution about reverting to ZVD using KP500. It works, but you might want to make sure you restore a nandroid/or flash a zip of a ZVD based rom before you start the process because I don't think ZVH roms will play nice with the ZVD radio. You will also lose root and your custom recovery in the process and have to reroot (gingerbreak), and then reinstall custom recovery. I could be mistaken about the ZVH rom causing issues after the KP500 flash of ZVD, but I played it safe with the following steps last night, and it worked for me. A summary of the steps would be:

(1) flash ZVD rom/restore nandroid of ZVD rom (I restored my nandroid of my stock VD)
(2) flash ZVD cab using KP500 (at this point I had a working stock unrooted VD phone with all my stock apps and settings)
(3) re-root using gingerbreak
(4) reinstall xionia.
(5) restore any nandroid you previously had. (back to CM7 for me)

I could be totally wrong about step one being necessary (it didn't hurt though); so, feel free to correct me.

Step 1 is definately redundant. Using KP500 does that anyway.

Re: [ROM] gROM 1.1 - 9/16/11 - GB 2.3.3 - Stuff just got real!

Ugh. All this talk of a too sensitive screen with the old LCD really has me discouraged. Reminds me of the issue where certain handsets with the VD radio would just NEVER boot past the LG logo. Sprint finally cleared that up with an update, but it took months from what I recall. Mine is from a month after the Optimus S was introduced, so it almost certainly has the old LCD I'd guess.

Wonderful.

I have an older LCD and had the sensitive screen issue, but after a few hours of playing with it, it went away. It's back to normal as far as I can tell.

I'm not sure if it "went away" or if I've just become accustomed to it already by making my touches a bit quicker and lighter, but I haven't had a mistype since yesterday early afternoon, and I use my phone constantly. I would not use the sensitive LCD as a reason not to do this upgrade.

No, mine just went away lol I'm still type with the same amount of pressure as before and it's back to normal. When i first flashed the update, my heavy typing would result in multiple repeating letters, but now it's fine. I was having overly sensitive touchscreen issues when trying to scroll down the app drawer and some of the apps would open when i barely touched them to scroll. Now i can scroll normally.

Like I said, can't explain it. But I agree, it's not a dealbreaker in upgrading to GB. Especially with new roms and themes in the making, it'll just get better.

It has been a very common pattern for it to just go away by itself. Who knows why but it just does.

Re: [ROM] gROM 1.1 - 9/16/11 - GB 2.3.3 - Stuff just got real!

Well I have the old LCD and I can't say that I have noticed any issues with hightened sensitivity. I am not on gROM yet though...just the stock gingerbread. Did people start having sensitivity issues after the update or after flashing this ROM?
