To install that kernel I have to wipe or can I just flash over with mobile Odin?

Re: [ROM][July 25, 2012] Android Open Kang Project [Stable 1]

I feel ya. Screen lag drives me nuts! That is why I rooted and rom'd. From the first day I bought my phone I was getting nasty screen lag on stock GB, in spite of all the reviews I read on the E4GT. Luckily there are roms/kernels out there like AOKP that eliminate it completely, otherwise I'd have to sell my phone and get something else. :-$

Flash it with Mobile Odin. Then after you boot into CWM, wipe EVERYTHING, then install all the new goodies.

I just flashed the leaked FG20 modem from the Boost Mobile E4GT. Gonna take it for a spin tomorrow. I'll let you guys know how it compares to FF18.

FG20>FF18. Where I live (one-bar land) has now become two-bar land. 3g speeds are faster as well. I can't test 4g since I live in one-bar land :p

So does the modem affect the phone's signal? Which modem do you guys recommend? Where did you find the FG20 modem, DEF3NDER?

It can affect signal strength and stability. This is based off my experience with trying out different ones, I'm no expert. I got it off XDA.

One last question. The OP says to odin el26 cwm5 kernel, but the downloads section has a different kernel. Which one should I use?

http://forums.androidcentral.com/ep...nt-read-before-working-tw-ics-leaks-aosp.html

In the first post there is a section titled "Working with CM9 and other AOSP based ROMs" which has a link to download the el26+cwm.

Once you install el26+cwm install the ROM per Dark_Knight's instructions in the first post then use Mobile Odin to install the recommended Kernel by Chris4g.

Most of the Kernels are test and may not be fully functional. The second post has a faq with which Kernels are confirmed working. Try another.

chris41g's kernel doesn't work 100% with AOKP last time I checked, except for his own AOKP build. I'm using his latest kernel on CM9 and wifi works great.

Are D/L links are down? Can't wait to try this new release. I know it's not easy for you at home dark_night right now, but we always appreciate the work you continue to do! :D
