I have flashed this but i am living in the Netherlands and my carrier is T-Mobile NL i can't get 3g working i use the scream for ICS b3 from drewgaren i have set the apn but it isn't working . i can call and text

I know this Rom has file from Gingerbread so it can work, i have a question... would the NFC files work with this Rom to make Google Wallet work??

Beezy,

If you need me to go through the thread and compile useful information to put in the first post I would be happy to do it for you, just let me know. I swear half the posts are people asking about flashing different kernels... seriously guys, one step at a time...

I already tried to flash the netarchy kernel. If you flash it, the phone will not boot.

I don't know if beezy can get it to work. I don't know if anyone has asked him to try and get it to work. And my 3G works. I didn't have to do anything special. I just flashed the rom.

I am by no means a developer or have a greater knowledge about the Android platform, but I'd like to suggest something:

Proposal: I think the persistent sync icon is a server-side issue. That is, I think when the Google Android account-holding servers recognize that you are running ICS, there is a sync issue because of updated stock applications.

Reasoning: After trying out ICS and having a boot-looping problem, I preformed a clockworkmod recovery factory reset, wipe cache, wipe Dalvik cache, and wipe battery stats, then installed Peter Alfonso's Bugless Beast GPA18 ROM. Even in this ROM, I am having the same persistent sync icon problem.

In Progress: I will be unrooting/returning to stock to see if the persistent sync icon problem still exists. Either way, I will update this post with that information in hopes that Beezy, Warttack, or any of the other developers working on this project.

[UPDATE] I preformed the above task (refer to "In Progress" section) and found out that stock, unrooted Gingerbread does not experience this issue anymore. I think that means that this is a problem interior to the ROM (or perhaps even my phone/account, I don't know). Do any of the developers see this issue?

P.S.: Thanks Charles for acknowledging me. From a newbie... It's pretty cool.

You wonder why 3g doesn't work....this rom is for the D720 not i9023. Flash the GSM port you might have better results.

I'm somewhat a developer, and I would have to disagree with you. I checked the packets by running Wireshark and legitimate data was being synced. Also, if you go into Settings>Accounts and Sync> then click on your Google account you can see current progress of the sync

I am also a developer but not a mobile developer yet. But I do code in Java. I have looked inside all of my accounts and none of them are syncing and the icon is still up there. There is an issue, even if it is a Boolean somewhere in the code that is not being set to false when the syncing is done.

GPA18 did not keep the icon up there after the syncing was done.

Remember we are running of an SDK port.

@ turbofan go for a list would really help me,I've been busy haven't even had time to link the videos others made.

EVEYONE adding a few details to first post to try and stop the repeat question but they still happen. Thanks for helping and answering them.

Off topic, but for Bugless Beast's GPA18 ROM, I saw that once you set up Google Wallet the endless sync will stop.

On with our regularly scheduled program now =)

Added a few of the most asked questions to the first post.lol

For the sync issue. First i have seen this happen on all rom GB and this. I usually solved by finding a gapp trying to update or sync. Go check all your accounts make sure there sync'd. Go into settings and mess around with syncing and un-syncing different things linked to your gmail account if the icon goes away when you stop syncing then that app is the issue. Mostly it has been gwallet but i didn't add that to the build so if you did by chance download it remove it for now.If I get the sync issue ill try to track it down.

A little off-topic, but the persistent sync icon in GPA18 is due to Wallet. Once you've setup Wallet, the sync icon will go away.
