[ROM+Kernel] Inferior Human Organs unofficial CM7.1

Has anyone done a build on a 32 bit environment using the 32 bit patch on the cm7 wiki?

I am building in 32-bit Ubuntu 11.04. I didn't use the 32-bit patch. Build scripts recognize the 32-bit environment and complete the compilation without any problem.

Cool thanks, now as soon as I can get Ubuntu to let me sign in I will be ready to start building again

Anyone having trouble installing the Bing application to this rom? http://market.android.com/details?id=com.microsoft.bing
The market is not giving me the option to download it. If I flash back to a 2.2 rom, I can download and install fine. (Which is how I got around this: flash 2.2, install bing, backup using Titanium, restore IHO from recovery, and finally install app using Titanium)

Would appreciate it if someone else on IHO tried to install this app and posted the results.

Do live wallpapers also run when the screen is off. Is there any way to stop them when the screen turns off and only work when the screen is on?

  Bing in Android?

... sorry, I could not resist, just kidding.

Do a full wipe (cache, d-cache, format everything but sdcard) then reflash 0810.

~Azrael's Kiss~

That seemed like too much effort (in terms of re-installing all the apps). I just went back up to 0817 hoping for quick fix to GPS issue. I guess it's a prime time to hit that Donate button.

Most phone functions are suspended when the screen is off. Only Services (settings - applications - running services) can do stuff in the background, so they should be the ones to look to if trying to conserve battery.

Jerry just flashed your 8-18 GPS revert and it still does not work..Google navigation keeps saying searching for GPS and the icon never flashes.
did wipe and reflash 3 times..any ideas?

Same, GPS is no-go in 0818.

Pretty sure it's not the device - when I went back to 0810 temporarily the GPS worked there.

It's actually a pretty good app, especially the map portion of it. I find it a nice alternative to google maps because very often the traffic info is more accurate.

Depending on who you ask, 32 will or will not work it seems. Google in one document said 32bit was okay, another says with GB you needed 64bit.

I tried 32bit and it wouldn't work, I guess it was something did wrong the first time around. Makes it easier if I can use 32bit though (lets me use a spare laptop). It really compiled fast on 64bit junk desktop though.

I have also heard about 64-bit requirement but I decided to try anyway. To my surprise, 32-bit system compiled flawlessly. It has been working fine since then for more than a dozen builds. My Ubuntu box initially had 2GB RAM and 32-bit was good enough. After I started building IHO with -j2 option to use both cores of the CPU, I have seen that swap space was being used. Now I have upgraded to 4GB and 64-bit upgrade will enable full utilization of the RAM. Still 4GB upgrade with the 32-bit system helped avoiding memory overflow to the swap space and builds are faster.

on the cm7 wiki it has two sets of installs, one for 32 and one for 64, I can get 64 on my PC if I do the wubi installer, but that messed up my windows, I'm trying. To load Ubuntu through vmware but it will only let me do 32 that way. Hopefully tonight I can get Ubuntu to let me log in and I will try the 32 startup

I use VMware with with 64 Ubuntu, 32 would not build for me.

If anyone is having trouble with QPST not recognizing your phone with this rom installed, just reboot into recovery. Then QPST should see your phone.

My 3g has been going on and off today. The icon never comes up and when it does it doesnt work. Ive toggled airplane mode alot and also pulled the battery many times. I restored my bumblebee backup and 3g is working like normal. Went back to IHO and 3g still isnt working. Im guessing I need to use the activate.apk but its not in any IHO roms. Staying on bumblebee for now.

Thanks to Blarf's directions, the GPS functionality is restored. I have just uploaded 08202011 pure IHO build to wiki. The details of the changes are here.

Summary of changes from IHO repo since the previous build
- add GPS blobs for better performance
- libaudio: Don't mute in-call audio
- liboemcamera.so from the vendor tree
- Update build fingerprint to P500 Gingerbread V20G

Tested on my phone and everything seems to be working including GPS. Thank you, Blarf!

Edit: I have updated to 08202011 build with a sync to IHO repo. There is no significant change since 08192011 build other than testing if gpsshim builds properly without additional step after Blarf's last change.
