ive been having alot of problems, i had my phone tethered to my laptop. and my phone just started rebooting and literally everything FC.
I went to fix permissions. And now its some google framework FC

The swype app included in the extras folder "expired" this morning... now what?

The best I can come up with is that is sounds like a bad download or corrupted SD card. Have you tried re-formating the SD card? I know it's a pain, but sometimes it needs to be done. Also, re-download 4.2. I'm a beta tester for midNIGHT and none of us have experienced your issues.

If you re-download and wipe the card and are still having issues, I suggest posting in the XDA forums, as I don't think this site is checked as often by ptfdmedic.

I have ODIN'd numerous times... back to stock... to EB13, etc... I just tried a clean install this morning... put EB13 stock on via ODIN, flashed with CW3.0.0.6 to root with EXT 4... cleared all data/caches... deleted midnight extras folder from SD... put Midnight 4.2 on my SD card and flashed... here is what happened, and has happened several times before... it seems to flash fine, reboots, and gets stuck in boot loop... I turn off phone, manually boot to CW3, and look in midnight extras... all that is in there is

Default Clock
Epic TW extra LWP
Fascinate Car Cradle
Fasscinate Clock
Fascinate LWP
and Fascinate ringtones...

there is NOTHING else in this folder... no standard package to flash... I did not run into any of these issues on 4.0 and upgrading that to 4.1... all of my issues have arisen around 4.2...

I have painstakingly tried multiple methods to do this and am not a noob at rooting or flashing... I've been with midNIGHT for months, but if I can't get this fixed today, might have to go elsewhere temporarily...

EDIT: I tried again for the umpteenth time, and it actually installed the full extras folder properly... fingers crossed I'm back in business... this install has been a gargantuan pain though... the fact I had to flash 4.2 literally 20 times to get it to work correctly once has me wondering...

Mine also expired today. Maybe its capped at a certain amount of texts?

That did it. I had to use SDX removal tool to get rid of Swype as it didn't show under applications anymore, (probably because I flashed the edify version to try and fix). Once I removed that I followed the instructions from the link you posted, and it's working just fine so far.

Mine is still working and I texted a lot since the install. Did you uninstall the first version before you installed the new one?

If midNIGHT is still offering his "midNIGHT extras" on sdcard, he should have the Gallery restore on there. I believe he had it there on v4.0

No dont think its there. But i decided to do away with midNIGHT rom. Every time my phone turned off, either from dying, freezing, or flashing something, id turn it back on and literally everything would force close. ill give it a whirl again next version

When this thing is working, there are no bugs that I've found.. I had a bear of a time flashing mine to 4.2... I went back to stock with ODIN and began from scratch one step at a time... I upgraded my brother's epic last night to 4.2 and it was a snap... doesn't seem to be consistent with the installs, but once I got 4.2 on there and added the standard edition upgrade, it's been perfect since...

I've been on 4.2 for four days and am literally getting 20-24hrs with actual real world usage... from my testing, the idle battery drain is about 70% less than on prior versions of this ROM and every other Froyo ROM I've tried... went to bed at a phone charged to 97% and when I woke up, it was at 94% 7 hours later... I've never seen anything like it... I can now go an entire day at work and out at night without fear of a dying battery...

4.2 is worth the upgrade for those wondering... I'm going to hang out on 4.2 for a while...

Dev has posted the upgrade from 4.2 to 5.0 for Midnight. The changelog on his site appears to be unchanged from the 4.2 upgrade, so I'm wondering. What is the difference between 4.2 and 5.0? It mentions the EC05 modem, but he also mentions that the EC05 modem is not pre-installed in 5.0, and that EC05 should work on any EB13 ROM, so EC05 is obviously not the reason for the upgrade....anybody know what new magic is packed inside 5.0 that wasn't included in 4.2?

This is the new EC05 release. It hasn't even hit OTA yet. It's official and addresses many issues. Hope that helps......

I would like to thank everyone for all the support I have received over the months I have been developing this ROM. Thank you all for taking on the challenge of spreading Autism Awareness. I can't explain what your support means to myself and my family.
Unfortunately, I'm announcing the end of the development for the midNIGHT ROM. It has become necessary to auction my Epic on ebay. I just got it replaced and haven't even activate it yet. My goal is to hopefully get enough to get our van fixed....again. We have MANY appointments and therapies for both my wife and kids that are out of town and on hold until I get the van back up and running. Emmett's speech therapy has been cut in half by insurance. His specialists have been trying to get him in 2 times a week as he has mod to severe language and speech impairment. Now they won't even cover 3 times a month.

While I wish there was another way I feel good about being able to at least do this. I hope to still contribute to this community and really hope to be back at it at some point in the near future.

Thanks again to EVERYONE for ALL the support for both this ROM and most importantly Autism.
