excuse me for being an ignorant newbie, but I am trying to install this... but am stuck

this is a unactivated phone I am moving over to cricket.

Here is where I am currently:

on a optimus S 8gig microsd with:
model LS670
baseband ls670mv9_6040
kernel 2.6.32.9 lge@androidbuild #2
build number FRG83
SW version LS670ZV9

I got root with z4root going with drellisdee's Custom Recovery and have made a nand backup.

am I supposed to go to http://forum.androidcentral.com/lg-optimus-s-rooting-roms-hacks/66768-how-guide-rooting-software-version-ls670zvd.html

then go to part two step four then continue to part four?

does the lg tool have the vd band to upgrade to? im confused on this

thanks in advance

Yes you need to upgrade your baseband to VD by following the directions in that thread. If you need help, ask in that thread. Once you get to installing this ROM, then you can ask rom specific questions in this thread...

Anyone else have an issue with the boxes you check overlapping the text? Here's a pic to better explain what I'm saying.

Every box that has an option like that covers up some of the text, even in the system.

Your running a theme and that's probably an issue with the theme. We only support the ROM in this thread and the ROM doesn't have that issue. Using just the ROM, and no additional theme, no I don't have that problem and I use dolphin so I opened the same screen in your pic above.

All themes are now in the theme thread for download and support purposes.

Alright I will post the question there then. I just wasn't sure since I applied the theme right after going to this ROM. Thanks for the help and good work with the ROM you guys.

And any way to transfer the thundeROM keyboard onto this one? I liked how when you selected a word it would then give you the option to add a question mark, comma, etc. and it also had a better layout, IMO.
Just curious.

No problem, glad you enjoy. If you want to help nick out with troubleshooting, when you post make sure you mention which theme. That's important because my guess is It's a port of an HDPI theme and a value was ported over for HDPI but because our devices are MDPI, your screen looks the way it does. That's my official guess but if you mention it to nick like that it could help with resolving it much faster.

Enable Bluetooth on the phone first, then the Bluetooth device. Not the other way around.

Sorry I was not very clear in my description, I have bt turned on on my phone before I try to connect the headset.

Thank You, Thank You, a million times "Thank You"

And especially to KSmithinNY for the other informative post about the exact steps you need to go through to root, backup and flash a phone...it was invaluable to me.

I have 2 questions abour Namesles Rom

1. I was able to get Mail to connect to my Corporate Exchange server without a problem. BUT, it didn't seem to push down any of the policies that my IT department set up (password screen, 10 log in attempts, remote wipe, etc.). Is this overridden in Nameless, or is there something amiss with my Exchange server.

2. Before I flashed to Nameless, I had 11 Mb free on the phone. I reloaded all of my apps and their associated data, and now I have almost 130Mb free. Is Nameless that much smaller, or do you just have to wipe your phone every once in a while to reclaim space?

Thanks Again for all of your hard work!

One of our features is EAS policy bypass meaning the phone tells the server it's accepted and complied with the policy but it hasn't :p. If you prefer to comply, you can manually setup a lock screen pin code.

We move dalvik cache to cache which free's up quite a bit of space. Also, when fully wiping your phone you get rid of alot of garbage files it's collected over the last x months. Little cache files and such that waste a TON of space. Now that your rooted and have a custom ROM, id suggest looking into managing cache with something like cachemate for root users. There are other alternatives but those can be discussed in an appropriate thread (yes, there is one around here somewhere).

I dont recall the exact numbers but this ROM will provide either 20 or 40mb of additional space for apps over a stock phone. Plus more free space over time due to moving dalvik cache.

What should not be restored in the titanium backup? I believe I should not restore ALL applications and data, but not sure what.

The simple answer is yes you can restore all apps and data.

Has anyone else had issues with sending picture mail ? I am getting a message expired or unavailable when trying to send...

I finally was in my car where my Bluetooth device is (motorola rokr t 505) and had no issues. Activated BT on the phone, turned on t505, they immediately connected. Made a test call, received a test call, streamed music through it all without a hitch.

I am having the same issues sending and receiving picture mail. I thought it was just me. I am using the stock messaging app and have no themes applied.

EDIT: I just d/led GOSMS Pro and I am still receiving the same error when trying to send or receive an MMS.

I suspect Sprint is having problems. I received 3 MMS yesterday and sent 2 without problem. This morning someone sent me 2 pictures and they wouldn't download. I tried to send a pic at 6:05pm (ET) and sent no problem and they got the pic. The user tried sending me a pic and i never got it. I tried sending them a pic again and it failed this time.

Ok, that's what I thought...Thanks!

Great rom guys just upgraded from thunderom

it would be nice if you could hide apps in the app drawer(without having to freeze them in titanium backup), but it's not big enough an issue to even consider not choosing nameless rom. great rom thanks!
