Thank you thank you thank you. I can't believe I have to dig through a thread for something like this that is pretty important to a cell phone. Now I know when I have voicemail again.

It's because sprint isn't making their own voicemail client any more, they teamed up with google voice, which is much better, imo (which doesn't matter much, but for what it's worth).

Internet doesn't work after Reborn ROM

I can only connect to 1x after doing a clean ROM flash to Reborn (from LEGO ROM). I have tried another clean flash, dirty flash, pulling the battery, updating profile (will not update), even calling sprint to have them reset my network settings. What do I do?

Does anyone have a solution for this? I have wiped data/cache/dalvik and reloaded the ROM to no avail.

For the future:
Read all directions. If that doesn't help then use the search feature. If you still have troubles then post. This question has been answered numerous times.

But here's your answer: update your baseband.

Works perfectly, just follow the directions when you install google voice and it will use gv instead of sprint.

I was researching this battery drain using Reborn 2.1. I've been losing 5-10% hour just texting and web. I even went back to a stock VD kernel, and still had similar drains. So I went back to ThunderRom 1.83, and it was a little better @ 5-6% per hour. So something still was draining it more than the rom I previously used. I had thought maybe the batteries have started to degrade already at the 6 month mark, but i still wanted to see what was causing this.

I think i found the battery draining bug. It is google voice version 0.4.2.24 . I caught it a few times spike system resourses and become very laggy and have to kill it. And i was losing battery life anywhere from 5-10 % per hour. I have since installed and older google voice version 0.3.4, and that has fixed any lag and FC. Plus battery life has returned to 1-2% loss per hour. The stock email program sucks battery life too.

So its not the Reborn Rom. But we have to use Google voice for the voice mail, so it is related to this rom.

Give it a try if you are having battery drain problems. Uninstall GV 0.4.2.24, and install below.

I rolled back the GV app, but only saw a slight improvement in battery life on Reborn 2.1. I was getting ~12 hours before, now its up to ~16 hours, better, but not compared to TR 1.8 where I was getting 40+.

Most of the searches and posts here seem to refer to "why doesn't my voicemail work" or "why does my phone say EV?" - at least I didn't ask that!

Try searching the optimus forums for "can't update profile" or "can't update prl" , durkah akbar jihad.

I tried this on Saturday, and have seen a *big* increase in battery life. I am on day 2 now, and still at 41%. Yesterday I had several calls, a few texts, and an hour of streaming Pandora (wifi).

I am also careful to have wifi set to "always on" but turn it off manually if I'm going to be in an area without wifi for a while.

I got my VD baseband from my initial update before I rooted with my first ROM (LEGO). As far as turning on 3G (EV) - my understanding is that if I change to HDR only in roaming settings it will show EV but screw my settings up and won't function properly.

I believe you need data (3G/EV) to update profile and prl. At least it's never worked for me without these on.

I downloaded Reborn with the retouched theme and I was looking to use my phone for wireless tethering. I tried turning on my tethering and my Nook isn't finding it. I'm a noob so if someone could point me to some step by step instructions to getting it set up, that would be wonderful. TIA!

Which tethering app are you using? I use hotspot widget and it works great.

Also, keep checking my themes thread, I got one for you I will release today.

No, ROM's are phone specific. Check out post #1285, Nick7 says he will be releasing Reborn for the T sometime.

How about going back to ThundeROM and seeing if you can update profile then. Then wipe and flash back
