We don't run the apk? We have to replace it, correct?

Ok, so this is really starting to irritate me now, but I'm having a lot of problems once I clear all my cache and data. I cant flash the rom until my data has been cleared, but every time I clear the data my phone is factory reset, and I have to redownload Rom Manager and SU. Once I get that up and running, I try again only to have my phone factory reset again and start all over from scratch.
This is getting really irritating for me and Im almost fed up with trying to get this to work. Someone please tell me something simple that I'm missing, I know it has to be something.:'(
Using Clockwork recovery. So here's where Im stuck at:What recovery are you using? And don't redownload Rom Manager, It can brick THIS model.
Put Reborn ROM on SD card >reboot to recovery >wipe data, cache, and dalvik >flash rom >reboot >enjoy!!!
Nick7-
My apologies in advance for these stupid n00be questions:
Right now, I am still running RebornROM v.2.1. I have Titanium Backup Pro and I'm familiar with backing up apps and data.
Question #1 - Is there a way, that I can actually export the *installed* apps in their original .apk format onto the SD Card/etc? Titanium Backup seems to back them up in a compressed file format along with associated settings.
However, I'm looking for away to simply extract or export the installed apps in their native .apk format for backup-purposes.
Question #2 - Also, I notice that when people leave me voicemail messages...I don't get any kind of notification...is this just a setting that I need to activate?
Thanks!!
BJ
Using Clockwork recovery. So here's where Im stuck at:
Using clockwork, I clear data and both cache's, go to install from sd, pick Reborn ROM straight from the root of SD, after a few seconds get a message saying "Installation Aborted"
Using stock recovery, reset data and bot cache's, only thing I can install is update.zip. Reboot phone, starts off fresh, lost everything and have to reinstall SU, Rom manager and Titanium.
I know I'm sounding like a noob, but I've looked everywhere trying to figure out why it wont flash properly.

Another one bites the dust!!! Woot for Rom Manager!!!!!!!!You can't use that recovery, you must use 1 of the recoveries from this forum.
Look at the sticky's posted at the top of this forum. The last one by KSmithInNy has links to the recovery options .
And don't use rom manager at all.
EDIT: Too late!!
