nope the normal 90 secs for me. You may have been grabbing it durning peak times.

alright, ROM is good to go. i am getting faster 4g speeds than i have before, however, it seems a little less willing to stay connected when it's a weaker signal. i used to be able to sit in my room and keep a connection while it is weak and now it drops and reverts back to 3g. i have read reports of the stock OTA having this effect and don't think it is the ROM, but the new 1.47. can we also install the new WiMax radio now that this ROM has the OTA updates installed? i am gonna ask first this time before i break my 4g again. and that is because merely creating a nan backup will not fix 4g if you break it with a new radio. that is a lesson hard learned. Wifi doesn't seem to be too much better on the signal strength side, but it is still going at a pretty good clip compared to before and i guess that is all that matters. if i understood it correctly HTC activated wireless N with the update, correct? as always -- thank you very much gbhil and keith.

on your set cpu settings -- why do you have two profiles for battery under 20%?

urgh, on my second download try. the first downloaded only 54mb. this time i had to wait 244secs. urgh.... trying to get it so i can get this done.

Hope this is not a dum question but I'm getting a replacement phone from sprint. If the new phone has the latest ota pre installed then can I install this Rom or will I need to find another Rom and method?

PNG Glitch... The first line should be TEMP settings. keep it under 35 C.

As far as the Radio goes... I **believe** the latest WiMax is built into the OTA. Can anyone clarify? Release notes?

EDIT: Confirmed, looking at the OTA, the WiMax radios are in there but we didn't include them in our ROM. You could flash the WiMax radios and see if it helps.

Root then flashing this is fine. Just remember to do the full wipe prior to flashing.

Do I have to wipe since I'm already on rvu? Or can I flash over?

this

Right now we are currently under testing with some of the following tweaks:

- OTA built-in.
- Completely unlocked CPU which includes deodexed, gumbo, & kernel tweaks.
- support for SetCPU (market download) and a non-SetCPU version
- Updated apps, i.e. Superuser, Titanium, ADW, etc.

Wipe will be necessary due to DEODEXing / OTA. So fire up Titanium Backup and save your goodies now. Cause RvU 1.4 will amaze you with battery life like never before. Real life... true story. You'd think we harmed REAL UNICORNS and RAINBOWS to make this happen. Perhaps...

why is the charging ac/full profile set less than 998?

ps
is anyone else having to wait a ridiculous 390 seconds?

To keep battery temps low while the phone is on an AC charger. This prolongs the battery and processor life --A LOT-- if you leave the phone on the charger overnight.

Gbhil I have tried this kernel on two different roms now including this one and it seems to work fine but if i choose set on boot in setcpu, everytime i reboot it fails to autodetect speeds

Also 4g seems to just keep scanning running this rom and kernel, not sure what could be causing it.

All reports point to the new threshold for an acceptable 4g signal with the new OTA is higher. Meaning you have to have a stronger signal to find, use, and sustain a 4g connection using this Rom and the current stock OTA release. That is most likely an effort to preserve battery life. It's a nice idea but not a trade off i am happy about.

@ gbhil: that is what I figured but I have learned not to assume.

@ Keith: I am gonna try the radio and if it breaks 4g then I know how to fix it.

@ everyone: the battery life is friggin amazing. The first few reboots after install is gonna eat a lot of battery. That is to be expected with changes implemented. deodexed and I imagine zipaligned means a lot of processor work when loading the OS for the first few times. But after -- wow. I wast at 22% for more than three hours of use with the new jumbalaya, jumbo, and setcpu settings. Keith doesn't lie mofo. Battery life is ****ing epic.

Alright, radio install time and I will report back.
