[ROM] RvU 1.3.2 WORKING 4G!!! Sync Fixed / ROM Manager Support

hey any one have a link to the stock kernel? the kernel in the beta RvU release didnt give me OC. the stand alone kernel from the RvU release would work too. The one from a few pages back gave me a bunch of broken widgets.

Also, despite my set CPU showing OC, i have terrible linpack scores.... like in the 2-4's....

sorry for the double post btw

That's the one that messed up my widgets... and still no better linpak scores

Oh I know he will. Looking for stock in the mean time.

PNG Glitch... The first line should be TEMP settings. keep it under 35 C.

my phone is over 35 C a lot of the time. kinda sucks to scale the CPU back at over 35 C and have my phone underclocked the majority of the time because the darn thing runs so hot constantly. any suggestions?

A quick question, and sorry if it is noobish.

I currently have RvU1.3.2 flashed and will flash 1.4 when I get home tonight.

Is there a need to flash this kernal at xda: [WIP] [7/7] Higher framerate on Novatek panels | Kernel inside | Now for Froyo!

or can 1.4 undervolt/overclock and break the 30 fps lock?

thanks again.

as far as i know -- gbhil's kernel does not touch the fps cap. and the kernel from xda doesn't OC or undervolt. i haven't read the thread over at XDA about the novatek kernel, but i am assuming it is built for stock ROMs and the RvU ROMs are pretty stock.

now you don't need to flash either kernel -- they are just there to meet the needs they describe.

as always -- create a backup and you can be our guinea pig. ;)

I always make a backup, though would like to run the new RvU with the stock kernel =) for now.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll give it a go when I get home. The one thing I wasn't sure of was if RvU was based on stock kernal or not, but it looks like it is.

i am running RvU 1.4 and the jumbalaya oc/uv kernel with no problems loading or using my widgets. i did have one freeze when using the web and had to pull the battery and i can't think of why. the phone wasn't terribly hot and i wasn't oc'ed by much. other than that it seems to be doing well. what were your linpak scores?

my results:
@ 9984 they range between 6.4 to 6.9. usually scored around 6.5
@ 10368 it ranged from 6.7 to 7.2. usually scored around 7.1
@ 1152 it ranged from 7.7 to 7.9. usually scored around 7.8

like between 2 and 6 lol i was expecting like 7's at least... and that was with the cpu set all the way up.

yeah, i never got below 6.4 at stock scaling and just barely missed 8. are you running any profiles in setcpu that are scaling down the processor because of heat/battery/charging/etc?

hmmm, when you say all the way up? how high?

hey, i went and looked at that novatek panel kernel and it looks like there is some oc and undervolting options there. so that's cool.

but i still don't know if it will or won't work with RvU.

so i tried the kernel i was talking about, and it flashed fine, but my fps were under 30. so i went back to the stock kernel instead. oh well, maybe i'll mess with it more when that gets integrated into some of these roms.

Whatever the max is. Flashed my old one back. Idk weird issue. Maybe I'm using set CPU wrong. Do I have to reboot after setting the frequency higher?

My battery dies like crazy with this Rom. Do I need to flash the kernel to see the battery improve? If do how do I flash it. Just like I would flash a radio? Thanks.

You shouldn't need to reboot for it to take effect. You might need to toy around with it when you have some free time and find the sweet spot that your phone likes. Some hero's won't boot anything above 710 and some do fine at 768,i sure theres going to be the same with the evo.

My g/f gets great battery life even before flash gb's great kernel.Do you have you email and other accounts set to sync ever 15min,cause taht would eat battery. To flash the kernel just download the zip and place on root of sdcard, boot into recovery flash the zip, reboot and your set to go.

Don't forget the kernel is set to max at 1152 and setcpu let's you go higher. I am not sure what happens when you set above the kernel's max.
