[ROM] RvU 1.3.2 WORKING 4G!!! Sync Fixed / ROM Manager Support

Is this ROM considered dead? There doesn't seem to be much activity here anymore.

I too wonder this.

I had this ROM loaded and running for two weeks but decided to move to Damage Control because it was improving every other day.

Shame because I really liked the speed and battery life of this ROM.

RvU ROM is very stable, no problems at all.
I read about the Damage Control on XDA, it seems to have some bugs.

In keeping with the naming convention, and in an effort to separate this kernel from the Hero kernel, may I suggest "Jambalaya" :)

Why change much if the ROM is stable. Guys if you think it is dead because they don't change something everyday to every other day then you need to move on. I want a rom that I don't have to reflash because they are having to fix things. Why deal with that stupidity. Move along. Sorry but that annoys the hell out of me.

@gbhil, I am sending you a PM on my findings, I want to know if you are hearing anything before I post them.

While I do understand (and somewhat agree with) your point Saepak, it has been almost 3 weeks since 1.3.2 was released.

I'm not looking for something that changes everyday or every other day but Keith's last post was on the 15th saying that 1.3.3 was coming soon.

I was just wondering if development had halted and if I should move to a different more popular and active rom.

Don't get me wrong. This rom has been extremely stable for me. At the same time, I think a lot of us root and install roms in the first place to be somewhat on the bleeding edge wouldn't you agree?

I personally prefer a DEV to take their time and tweak and adjust everything prior to release and get some good testers on it so they can identify and correct as many bugs as possible. People who are impatient might want to start shopping around and see what other DEV's are doing, but for those who care about a stable, functional release ... I'd suggest sticking around with RvU.

Just my 2 cents

Saepak, agreed! If it works good, why break it.

It sounds like we have a bunch of crying EVO owning gentoo portage maintainers. :D The 'because they don't change something ' argument reminds me of the XMMS - Portage debacle.

The thing is, over two weeks ago Keith said 1.3.3 was "coming soon". Obviously that hasn't happened. I'm just wondering if he has halted development. Life gets in the way sometimes.

There are things that I could see going into a new version. Just one example is 802.11n support. I am not crying. Simply want to know if it has been abandoned. I think the fact that Keith hasn't responded at all is pretty much a good indication of the situation.

I'm not sure why people are defending this ROM as if it were being attacked or something. Just trying to have an adult conversation about its status.

They are still working on it, because they are testing some Gumbo on it. Not sure how other testers are faring with it, but I am now back home so going to be removing it. Works but has some stability issues. Which could just be my phone. So yes there is testing going on.

No problems with the Gumbo so far. I have noticed an improvement on the memory. Before the gumbo, I was always using a task manager to kill the apps. because the phone was slowing down. Not any more, the phone doesn't slow down at all. I was running a live wall paper, slacker radio, twitter, and was switching apps using power strip with no problems at all.

I notice two unrelated things, that I need to continue to test: 1. The battery got real hot when I used the gps. 2. I m having problems with my signal in certain locations. I only had my phone for a week , it might be the reception on that specific area or sprint is slowing my signal.

I'm very happy with the gumbo.

Hello fans of RvU. I love this rom and you like to keep it. Are their any updateds in the works and will they be available through ROM Manager. thanks again or making a great ROM

After flashing this ROM on my phone, my data/app folder is empty and all applications supposed to be included in it are not present on my phone. What went wrong here? How can I fix this?

Thanks and sorry if this has been covered on the last 50 pages, it's too much to read :s

yeah, that is what happens. you lose all data and that is why backups are life savers. you are going to have to reinstall it all or restore a titanium backup if you made one. it is the nature of the beast when switching roms.

No, sorry, I realise that you lose all user data and installed applications, I was anticipating that. I mean, SprintTV is gone. From the front page of this thread, this part:

Added to Data/app for easy removal by user:

AmazonMP3

FriendStream Widget (Put FriendStream App back into system/app to prevent sync issues)

Peep and Widget

Footprints and Widget

Sprint Nascar

Sprint NFL

Sprint TV and Widget

Sprint Promo

None of those apps are present in my phone.

Try just flashing the rom again without wiping.
