it just doesnt go directly into red recovery because the kernel gets replaced by the stock kernel , so you need just to apply sdcard:update.zip as long as you have the update.zip on your sdcard.
I have it all, and I've tried going to that as well. It goes to green CWM. But, I've Odin'd it now, and it's staying. I don't know what's happening.

Heads up gunnermike, I bought the same set. You can charge all three batteries in the portable charger, but you can only charge the original battery in the phone. I use all three when out with the family and the children want to play games. The pain is the car dock and the usb audio, if you have one on the off brand batteries in you can not close the slider on the dock. Dig?

I restored my previous near stock EB01 rom and it works again. Could be that I need to wipe when installing sc 2.6.

after i flashed 2.6, i didn't just restore all apps and system data from Tibackup like i did before. I just restored the stuff i needed, and specifically left out restoring anything linked to the bluetooth and everything works great now

I was flashing like crazy when Adrynalyne was first popping out the Froyo builds, and I'm keeping up with this thread daily... but I've been sticking with 1.0 since it came out.

It just runs perfectly on my phone, and I love the extra features.

I know, not a big addition to this thread, I just thought it might make gunnermike53's head explode to read such blasphemy ;)

I will probably update after the official froyo comes out, and some nice kernal work is done.

what happens if you do?

This may sound like a dumb question but I haven't ever used a new Kernel before--can I flash it through CWM just like I would a ROM?

is there a new cwm?

There is a new red cwm jt1134 put out. It won't stay on our phones if you are running nonvoodoo once you flash a new ROM. It will look just like the red cwm most of us have now, it just won't have the bitmap error messages on the bottom of the screen. Once the source code is released and the devs can put out some custom kernels, we will be able to boot directly to this new red cwm. So if you are currently on a nonvoodoo kernel and when you boot to recovery you go to stock blue recovery first, apply sdcard:update.zip, then end up in red cwm with the bitmap error messages on the bottom then you have the cwm that currently works best with our phones.

Finally made the jump to 2.6 No issues so far, runs great. Not sure if I'm feeling the new status bar, will flash the original reworked EB01
status bar from XDA if it doesn't grow on me.

so I flashed 2.6 and the eb16 NV kernel... I know the jump to 2.6 worked but how do I check the kernel?
