Do the kernels just offer tether? Or are there other differences than your included one?

We cant really decompile the kernel, but we (assume) its a newer build. That brings possibilities of greater performance, better battery life...or the exact opposite.

There isn't an odin file for 2.6 afaik but you should be fine using the .zip in the OP and flashing through cwm. just wipe cache and dalvik cache prior to installing.

Super Clean version 2.5 - EB01/EB16 Froyo leak root+Froyo Clockworkmod

Yes, put the file on your sd card then click the turn off usb gray bar on the screen on your phone, hold down the power button and choose recovery from that menu. You should be in blue stock recovery, hit the volume down button once to highlight apply sdcard:update.zip and hit the home soft key. This should take you into red clockworkmod recovery (cwm). scroll to install zip from sd card with volume button. Here in red you use the power button to choose instead of the home key. Hit the power button and find where you put the 2.6 file. scroll to it with the volume buttons, hit the power button and wait for it to install. When it is done installing, hit the menu soft key until you are back at the main red cwm menu where reboot system now will be highlighted at the top of the menu. Hit the power button and wait for the phone to reboot. Done, easy peasy.

I'm sure this has been answered a billion times, but could someone please post a link how to take the superfrankenclean 2.6 zip file and come up with an update.zip and tar file? I downloaded superfrankenclean 2.6 in it's zip format and end up with just 3 folders. Kernel_update, META-INF and system. Couildn't find update.zip or .tar file in any of that. I read a great deal on this thread and have yet to find it so any help pointing me in the right direction would be great! Found this thread by DroidXcon http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...ged-roms-w-root-clockwork-updated-2-25-a.html but the newest version 2.6 is not on it.

Edit: I used the above URL from DroidXcon to flash the 2.4 and had no problem btw. Happy with that, but like gunner and the rest, I love keeping up to date! :)

Yes, now that you used the 2.4 ODIN package you have update.zip. And since you already downloaded the 2.6 zip to your sd card, you can use my instructions from the post above yours to update to 2.6 through clockworkmod recovery (cwm), just start from the second sentence where you hold down the power button.

Thanks adrenalyn, just flashed my phone to SC2.6 with jt's EB16 voodoo from SC2.4 voodoo'd, and it is nice :). I just used CWM for this, and I definitely like that method better then odin for some reason. It's more convenient I guess.

Got a score of 1546 in Quadrant, which is good right?

Anyways, now I gotta test and see if anything broke, haha.

does base band and build still say eb01 on sc2.6? If not I have a problem lol

currently still on 2.5,

I've noticed that my app drawer has to video apps...one is the stock Tw "Video player," the other looks like a AOSP video player named "videos" and has a green icon. I've looked in system/app and only found one video related apk named "VideoPlayer.apk" I also did a search in Root Exp and got the same results. Does anyone know if both of these apps are tied together or is there a file I can deleted to get rid of the AOSP vid player?

update:
interesting, so those two apps are not tied together... the AOSP video player named "videos" is actually tied to "music.apk" Is there a reason why there would be two vid apps? Was the stock Tw "Video player" left in by mistake? I only asked because I dont need 2 apps that do the same thing and I noticed that 2.6 still has both vid players.

The TW video player is superior (imo) to the aosp one.

That said, if there is a consensus to remove the touchwiz one, I will do it.

thanks for the reply Adrynalyne.

I'm a big fan of the TW video player, I would actually like to get rid of the AOSP video player but I dont know if that's even possible without also losing the AOSP music player....well besides going TW for both music and video players...might try that after seeing if I like the AOSP music player or not.
