Galaxy Tab Email, I know there has been problems. Like it states its for the Galaxy Tab so I guess there is problems using it on the Epic. I use K9 email and GMail so I really haven't had any experiance with it.

On the predictive text/auto fix. Unless you flashed/installed something before coming to TrulyEpic Rebirth then nothing should of changed. As far as I know the Android Keyboard & Swype are still stock DK28 Froyo form.

Where do you have this MMS bug video clip your talking about posted? Sorry I've been doing most of my posting from my phone last 24 hrs so I haven't been able check things as easily.

I noticed that the video player no longer has the ability to lock the phone by hitting the power button. Was this feature removed with 2.2, or is there something I can do to fix it?

This feature is working on mine still.

GPS issues are random, they are not a result of any ROMs. The GPS issues have existed since Eclair 2.1 and still exist on the leaked DK28 Froyo and all the custom DK28 ROMs.

Some people have been luckier than others and certain ROMs have been better than others for them. There are no patterns, no guarantees only thing you can do is go here and try one of these methods to solve your GPS issues.

I played with this for a couple of days before I realized that 2.2 breaks my bluetooth when connected to Sync... I lose all audio when it connects on the phone (all sounds, not just voice and streaming audio) and it does not restore them when it disconnects. I have to do a reboot to restore sound. I downgraded to baked snack and the bluetooth works like it is suppossed to. I am assuming the issue is with Froyo and not with this Rom, but so far this is the only 2.2 rom I have tried so I am reporting it here. I am going to install the DK28 by itself tommorrow to see if I can replicate the problem.
Loved the ROM prior to that though, hoping it's a Froyo thing and it is one of the reasons they haven't released officially yet!

I don't know how they work so please don't take offense... just an observation on my part. I'm going to re-install the ROM now that I have clockwork all figured out and can swap back and forth to test. Now I'm torn between two ROM's!

I'm lazy. Using this ROM, I d/l'd GPS Status from the Market. Used the Tools in it and it fixed my GPS.

Samsung Kies -

Anybody know if Samsung Kies will work with this ROM? That mode does not show up when USB plugged in, as it did with Quantum ROMs.

I am just curious to try Kies out, especially as Tmobile is using it to update Vibrants.

I had same problems with Bluetooth and Sync with this ROM as with Quantum, though maybe a little better with this one. Sometimes it just disconnects the BT, or looks connected, but really isn't.

I found that trying to name the phone did not work either (in BT prefs). The first time I would pair it, it worked. The next time I got in my truck, it did not recognize Sync and vis-versa. The phone then paired as Epic 4G. The next time it paired as BRCM. Now it seems to go back and forth, but never as David's Epic after the first time.

However, it is at least connecting with Sync, and working reasonably well. The only thing I noticed is that with Truly Epic ROM, that Pandora doesn't automatically pause like the music players do when I turn truck off and open door. Instead, the phone starts blaring out Pandora (blaring, because phone "media volume" has to be way up to hear BT audio on my truck's system via SYNC.).

So I don't get a dead audio with Truly Epic and Sync.

Truly Epic is fast, and after a while I kind of like the basic Android interface.

I don't know - what can you do with Kies if there are no updates available for the Epic? Also Sprint may choose to do an OTA update and not use Kies, so this may be moot.

Awesome job! I just updated my launch day Epic, with non-rooted Eclair. I'm a technical guy, but I've never tried my hand at rooting or ROM's. However, your rooting guide, lag fix guide, installation guide for TrulyEpic Rebirth, and the GPS guide made it a very straightforward process.

Everything is running a LOT faster, with ZERO lag. I did have to fix the GPS though; I used "Procedure 4" (manufacturer's reset). Now my GPS gets an accuracy of 4 meters or less every time.

You know what, for some reason that never crossed my mind - but it is a good idea! I'll need to write up a couple javascript files, possibly register with GitHub and send the ROM to Koush (creator of ROM Manager). I'll look into it, thanks for the suggestion

Didn't install anything new I can think of, only got new 32gb card 1 day prior (patriot class 10 from new egg by the way). Anyway, I'm planning to reinstall the ROM. Just wanted to check if there sounds like any need to odin back to stock first or can I just wipe in clockwork and reinstall?

2) I know this has been mentioned a little bit in earlier posts. Just wanted to make sure there's anyway to restore the data for programs like angry birds. I spent weeks getting three stars on every level and lost them all!!! Tried to reinstall data only from mybackup but says there's nothing there. This is not big deal but just though I'd check.

good on this rom for any additional speed. If so, any settings better than others, such as On Demand (I used this on Pre, really made a difference as well as rooted
Hero). And if so, any battery drains??

Overclocking is a wonderful thing, but I know these kernels are somewhat restricted until Samsung releases info, but thought I would ask.

Did you flash the stock MMS.apk from the first post?

1) Re-download the file (extra precaution), in Clockwork wipe data/wipe cache/advanced>wipe dalvik-cache twice each, and reflash the ROM.

2) Download the app from the Market first and then restore data.

I wouldn't bother tweaking CPU settings until we have overclock support (wait for official 2.2).
