[ROM] TrulyEpic Rebirth v1.5 AC - no planned EB13 update :'(

i just got the phone out of the box like 10 min.ago so i have no data i need to backup do i stilll need titanium
Your phone is 10 minutes old, right out of the box! Beautiful... No need to backup then because you have nothing at this point.

Make sure that battery has a reasonable charge in it, all the flashing etc your about to do will draw some power... Hate to see you run out during the process..

What would you like to know about the add ons.. ?

Thanks for offering your help. I got most figured out and now narrowed it down to a few.

1. How does the Black Dialer look?
2. How is Stock Gallery3D different than the Gallery that comes with TER? They look the same.
3. Mini Theme v1.0 vs Mini Theme v1.0 Lite

Black dialer, imagine all the grid lines inbetween the numbers and the actual outline of the number buttons all blacked out.

Not sure on the gallery, still running stock w/rom

Mini Theme v1.0 vs v1.0 Lite, only difference is the battery meter itself if I remember correctly.

Download them both, if you don't like one just reboot in CWM and flash over it with the other one.. Sorry no pictures to show of the Lite version or I would provide.

@droid x fan, might be some sort of record here.. Brand new phone right out of the box and rooted/custom rom in less than 30 minutes. Thats great.. Thumbs up!

I did many flashes over the Mini Theme 1.0 and Mini Theme 1.5 and encountered no such troubles I had to do this to troubleshoot some bugs and never encountered any problems. Any time you do flash something your initial boot will be a longer wait after that every boot will return to normal.

I'm not saying that it didn't happen, but in the dozen or so times I flashed and flashed again back and forth over both themes for troubleshooting I never had any troubles.

If I wanted to go from the miniTheme 1.5 to a midNight Theme, do I only need to flash in CWM or is there more to it?

Quick question?? When changing ROM's are you able to flash multiple zip files without having to reboot the phone after every zip file??
quick answer - yes.

In fact when you first install a DK28 ROM and ext4, you have and the ext4 filesystem, you have to do about 3 zips in a row in CW3 BEFORE rebooting if I remember right.

(ext4 filesystem, ROM, Dk28 modem kernel)

Also works for reinstalling Sprint/Samsung apps all at once.

Hell, I did like 5-7 if I recall before reboot. No issues. YMMV of course.

unless it's a refurb with DK28 on it already, as reported in XDA forums lately! lol...

What exactly is TER? Sorry, do not know the acronym. Thanks.

TER= TrulyEpic Rebirth

That's it. Flash in CWM.

On the subject of flashing multiple zips at once, I only said that for our newer visitors that don't know what to expect or what happens. Its easier for them as they are learning or experimenting to do it one at a time so if they do make a mistake they know what did it. Those of us who are used to doing the routine and are confident in what your doing go right ahead and do as you choose.

Sorry for any confusion that I created, just looking out for everyone so we all have a good experience, as error free as possible. :)

I don't know - what can you do with Kies if there are no updates available for the Epic? Also Sprint may choose to do an OTA update and not use Kies, so this may be moot.
About Kies:

I was curious, but after Kies kept asking at every boot up of my laptop to run some wierd program, and wouldn't install the fsUSB driver right in Win7-64, I uninstalled it. (Hope it didn't mess up USB for Odin!) Also, I like the battery life on Truly Epic way better than Quantum. So a moot point now, as keeping Truly Epic, not Kies.

Thanks for reply Ragnarokx, and a great ROM!

No need to backup since you have nothing to backup. This should definitely be the smoothest flash.

D@mn skippy to that! +2

Sorry for all the comments guys, reading 8 pages since my last visit and responding accordingly. If there is an easier way to put into one post, please advise.

Sorry, I was only commenting on the flashing multiple zips b/c I was nutz to do it and surprised to find it worked flawlessly! Of course I wiped everything 3x, etc, etc and only did the addons after the initial flash/reboot. I definitely agree that your recommendation and process make for a much smoother transition for those unfamiliar with the flashing process (which I was a week ago ;) ) This is just a testament to the stability of the ROM and the work you guys have put into it - Dev and Support.

One issue I am seeing. Running Mini Theme 1.5 - my battery NEVER goes above 96% even after a 24hr charge. I have reset, reflashed, toggled Airplane on/off, all radios off, and it never seems to go to 100%. I even went so far as to install JuiceDefender to monitor and control the battery usage. This works like a charm (especially on battery when the screen is off or phone is idle); however, the battery still never goes above 96% on home screen while plugged in.

Any ideas?

Thanks much!

That is a problem with the Epic in general. If you want to reach 100%, once the battery says full just unplug and then replug - it will start charging again and get to a higher percent. Repeat this until you get to 100%. I used to do this, but lately the not reaching 100% hasn't bothered me as much.
