using that uninstaller you linked to.. trying to uninstall nascar by sprint app (and football if i can figure out what its called).. i got an error message. said permission denied. any ideas?

anyone having a GPS issue. granted i am completely new to all of this. rooted my phone, did the epic lag fix and installed this ROM. I absoultely love it and the speed and performace i am getting with my phone. however with google maps it can't find my location with the gps. anyone else having this problem. thanks in advance, and i apologize if i missed the fix somewhere in this thread or forum, i just figured i'd ask here and get the answer since i am running this ROM even though it prob isn't related to the issue. thanks again.

Congratz on the front page recognition Rag. I really appreciate the work you do for us. I know XDA does the same thing but your support and noob friendliness make me feel alot more comfortable going through the rooting/rom process with your products/guides. I always get the feeling xda is NOT very friendly towards any noobs and I always feel at easy posting my questions in this forum.

Update: I had the Bonsai 1.1.4 with their ext4 zip addon. Will that cause a problem with this ROM or does that only effect and work with Bonsai?

MyBackupRoot, you can simply choose to backup data. Android Setup Wizard will handle restoring any downloaded apps from the market. If you did install any flashed add ons then you may wish to choose to backup apks too.. Also your other part to this question, Setup Wizard will automatically restore MyBackup, so then go in and restore your stuff.

The EXT4 mod addon (journaling mod I think). If I remember reading from Mammon (Bonsai dev) it is installed into your phone now and can't be removed unless you Odin back to reset everything. I have it on my phone from when I ran Bonsai and have flashed midNIGHT and Truly Epic Rebirth and it runs fine no problems being caused by it.

What did the error message look like/what did it say? Did you press "Allow" when the Super User message popped up?

GPS issues happen for no rhyme or reason unfortunately. Follow the link that HAAS599 posted above for some good fixes.

You're going to want to convert to EXT4 first - use this thread for a complete walkthrough.

I had to get mybackup from the app store again, setup wizard did not install it. I'm now restoring my free and paid apps, slowly. they don't all seem to restore at one time. crazy go nuts.

First time root and rom all went perfectly thanks to your clear instructions. I love the appearance of this rom, and performance is top-notch.

I used the stock froyo email flash, just had to erase the cache, that fixed the force close mentioned way up above somewhere.

Love the mini theme... i used the battery mod app to apply the 'htc classic' % battery guage and, like you said, it trashed the black notification panels. Any chance of a .zip to flash that would use that battery mod without killing your theme?

that would be the icing on the cake!

1 - I'm currently on a relatively vanilla deodexed zipaligned version of DK28 (found here: [ROM][ACS] Froyo Build DK28 - Deodex/Rooted - NO DI18 NEEDED - PROTECTED APPS - 12/4 - xda-developers). I can do the cw3/ext4 procedure then flash this ROM without reverting to stock Eclair or reverting to stock DK28 Froyo, correct?

2 - I've read some threads that made me wary of converting to ext4 - this is no longer an issue?

Google Maps Crash

First off awesome job it runs fantastic. My only issue is right after an install of 1.2 I go to the market place and it wants to update google maps and everytime it tries to install it, phone crashes and reboots. Any ideas?

The onbly problem i have is with the email app. I synched ny hotmail account and it doesnt bring any emails.
Any ideas as of why?

2. I'm not sure what threads you're referring to. Some people do have problems with the procedure (just like any modification).

Me? I have Froyo. I don't know how to use MyBackupRoot it seems.

If you're on Froyo, and you have it in your Settings to backup with Google, when you install a new ROM/fresh version of Froyo, all your settings and Market apps should be restored. You might need to check auto update next to your apps in the Market for them to auto download.

As for MyBackup, what I do is go to Backup>check box next to apps>backup apks+data. You can restore them in a similar way.

Hey guys got a quick question that hopefully someone has an answer for. So i just "upgraded" my ROM and everything went pretty smoothly for my first time. The only problem I have (and this is kinda big LOL) is my phone is constantly going into airplane mode and I cant get it to stop. The funny thing is my 4G connection says connected but I cannot make any calls and have no signal whatsoever. Did i goof somewhere or just forget to do something? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, Thanks in advance.

Did you come from Android 2.1 (Eclair) before installing your Android 2.2 (Froyo) ROM? If so you need the Froyo modem. If this is the case, follow this procedure to resolve: New: Flash Froyo DK28 Modem Only.
