[ROM] TrulyEpic Rebirth v1.5 AC - no planned EB13 update :'(

I did just check the phone setting/about/status and it shows Truly Epic Rebirth under network. I don't think that changed until I installed mini theme 1.5, I could easily be wrong. Can someone on stock TrulyEpic 1.2 verify what is under your network name?

On the flip side is anyone running theme 1.5 w/sprint pack installed and have Nascar & Football apps working?

Mobius might be on to something here. I'm running v1.2 with the mini theme 1.5, and get the 'available to sprint/nextel customers only' message for both the nascar and football apps as well.

I can't verify, but that is what I remember as well. The Network Name didn't change until the Mini Theme 1.5 install.

I also observed the problem with widgets and icons disapearing when using AMLauncher and apps moved to the SD card. This does NOT happen with the TWLauncher (Touchwiz). My guess is that an updated AMLauncher will fix this issue for apps moved to SD.

So I have been using TWlauncher since last night. I am still seeing this problem.
I even uninstalled the programs in touchwiz, reinstalled and tried to move app and the widget is no longer available.

As I mentioned before it does not make any difference in using the actual app, just strange the widgets vanish.

I flashed the TrulyEpic Rebirth ROM yesterday without a hitch. Thanks to ragnarokx and others for making this such an easy process for an Android beginner!

All is running well here...the only negative I notice is battery life is a bit less. The speed is awesome and it is really nice to have a working GPS. Great work!

Okay, I wiped 3x. Flashed TER 1.2>boot>rebooted into CWM>flashed Sprint App Restore>Nascar/Football working>reboot CWM>flashed Mini Theme 1.5>boot up and all is still working

Last test would be to install the SMS Voice mail msg patch and were all good.
Flashed SMS Voice Mail msg patch, Nascar/Football still working.


If your interested try these steps and all should work. Not sure what caused the conflict to make the App Restore for NASCAR/FOOTBALL not function.

I can't verify, but that is what I remember as well. The Network Name didn't change until the Mini Theme 1.5 install.

Network will say Sprint if your NOT using Mini Theme v1.5

Network will say Truly Epic Rebirth if your ARE using Mini Theme v1.5

That is part of the "branding" mod that I did with Mini Theme v1.5. Didn't change anything "technical speaking".

Awesome Work

Completed my first root/clockwork/froyo/ROM install with TrulyEpic a few days ago following Ragnarokx' instructions for each step of the process. Thanks so much for putting this together, I'm thrilled with my NEW phone!

My only wish is that I would've understood the backup process a little better from the start, as I lost much of my application data. No big deal though, I just need to schedule some alone time with Angry Birds to catch back up Plus now I'm pretty sure I understand the process so it won't happen again.

Not sure if its related to the Froyo modem, some tweak in the ROM or if its just Sprint turning on new towers with 4G, but I have now got a solid lock on my 4G connection in Baytown TX. 4G has worked in Houston for a while now, but in Baytown, sometimes I got a 4G connection, sometimes not. Now its all good.

Problem installing any apps after flashing new rom

Ok let me start off by saying my phone has been acting very strange lately.

First i had an older quantum rom - before 2.5 since i didnt have ext4 file system - and for some reason my capacitive button stopped carrying out their duties (They would blink when i clicked on them, but nothing would happen; the hard keys still work.)

So i tried flashing a new rom since i figured i was due for an update. I tried what was the newest version of Bonsai on this last sunday. I could install apps but everytime my phone reboot, all the apps would disappear (including the updated google maps) + my buttons would actually react for a couple times, and then they would stop

Now im on the latest truly epic AC build. I flashed it, and now i cant install any applications period! If i install an application, my phone will just reboot as it is installing, and it wont be installed when it comes around.
At first i chalked it up to the fact that i hadnt updated to the ext4 filesystem. Now i just updated to the ext4, and it still wont allow me to add applications.

Any help would be awesome. Hopefully i dont have to bail on this phone

Sounds like you have jumped around a bit. It sounds as if something really got fouled up in the system. I hate to say it but unless Ragnarokx or someone else has any ideas I would Odin back to stock or Froyo (new option) and start with a clean slate and upgrade back to CWMv3.0.0.5 then flash TrulyEpic Rebirth v1.2 and you should be good.

Of course do a MyBackup/Titanium before starting.. Once your back up to Truly Epic Rebirth v1.2 see how things are working, download an app and if all works then great! Then try a data only restore after Android Setup Wizard restores your apps.

If you just converted to EXT4, reflash the ROM. However Paul's suggestion is ideal - Odin back first and start again. And btw since you're currently on TrulyEpic Rebirth, I'm going to move this over to that thread.

Wow Paul thanks for taking the time to do all that. I will probably wait for the next version of TrulyEpic before redoing my phone, I will be much better prepared next time for sure.

Probably not. I was using the stock AMLauncher in the ROM and also had Zeam loaded (testing it out) and I did the method I provided and everything worked. BTW, I have AMLauncher and Zeam loaded again, same setup as before and all is good.

Might just be one of those "unknown" conflicts.

OK, here's what I did after having issues with the phone last night and earlier today.
I got to into clockwork by camera+volume+power and choose install from .zip.
This set the phone back to "rebirth" factory conditions. Or at least I think so. I then installed the mini theme and the tw lock. Knowing that my GPS didn't work earlier when I attempted to use it to get to that job interview I followed step 4 on the link for the fix. That worked but it also 'rest' the phone. Weird in that every seemed normal, but some of the apps that rebirth installed weren't there (that were before the gps fix). The Ad removal one is the one that I can think of right away (because it was first and now its gone). I don't know what else was there there that isn't.
But after the reset to 'rebirth' and the gps fix the phone was pretty much back to normal. I'm having to re-log into all my accounts and re-install software. No biggie. Good thing IHOP provides free WiFi!
I think that the issue was really ADW Launcher. I prefer the more screens that it and GO Launcher provides over the AM Launcher. So I went back to GO Launcher that I was using pre-froyo. Seems to be OK now.
I'll keep posting as I go along and see what happens of if I encounter other problems. I do appreciate the help and effort that has been and is continuously being put into this project.

I'm sure it was related to the earlier problems I was having, but my battery sucked. I had a full battery as I left the house and plugged it in the car charger while I drove to the job interview. At 9am it was at 98%. At 1035am when I was leaving the interview, I felt the vibrate and realized the phone was dead.
At IHOP with power, it charged pretty fast. But having it plugged in to the USB Hub on my laptop, it seems like it didn't charge at all but it at least didn't get drained. Seemed like it just kept it powered enough to have the screen on and download from the market.
I'm wondering if this is more of a .07A thing from the USB Hub. If I plugged directly into the laptop's USB would the charging be faster?
I'm hoping with a reset of everything the battery lasts the 4hrs that I used to get.

I've been using this for about a day and a half now. Flashed it from my stop Eclair, and have been pretty impressed with it so far. The instructions were a little confusing, and obviously written by a programmer. How could I tell?

Once I was three layers deep into following the dream, I realized that my father just wants me to build my own empire instead of inheriting his.

Inception jokes aside, this is a solid ROM that I am loving so far.

quick Question about how you went on the steps, after i flash 1 item, do i reboot, wait for the Droid to fullly boot up then restart and reboot to CWM then reflash the second item? or can i just flash them all at once, if thats the case, i guess thats what happened to me at first, because i flashed the addons i wanted one by one, without going by restarting/homepageboot/restart to CWM ect..
let me know paul , and also er being that im answering this and to save another post, im getting if is either a bug or just because i dont have the bubble chat, but im unable to display slideshow images, when i click it, it tries to show it,but it cancels itself out, the screen shakes(slides the left in a quick instance, but returns back to the message) with the new shootme(really nice i gotta say) i recorded what was happening, should i post it here? or message you it? ty .
