[ROM] [VM701] Mobster Rom v1.4 update: 5/28

Re: [ROM] [VM701] Mobster Rom v1.2.5 update: 3/7

Nope, I use Gingerkernel with Gelato and it's about 175MB free after a fresh flash. After installing this ROM, and Gingerkernel, it gives about only 135MB or so.

did you do a fresh install of my Rom? you have to factory data reset from the recovery before you flash the rom for a clean install....

Edit: 135 can't be that bad i have 1.1GB total on the Triumph and with tons of apps i still have 1GB left im not even sure that its necessary to have that much.... either way until i find a way to increase internal storage i suggest using app2sd or Link2sd....

You're not the first to come across that issue with this device, from what I've read the CyanBreadX rom had the same issue with space. By the way, I came across an issue with the Facebook app. I got it on video.

Re: [ROM] [VM701] Mobster Rom v1.2.5 update: 3/7

Okay... CyanBreadX was not a rom it was a theme... the rom was the Team Hydro Rom for the L55C.. the problem was the rom was ported to the VM701 which it wasn't made for. As far as internal memory issues, thats usually the kernel. Your rom doesn't affect the Internal Memory... your Data partition is separate from the System Partition. To be completely fair its unlikely anyone will use more than 100mb of Internal memory. Set up a2sd on your device and use it... just be sure the kernel/rom you're using enables a2sd. This isn't even my rom but I feel someone needs to step in and defend it because criticism will turn devs off especially when they don't even have the device they're trying to develop for.

Yep it was fresh install. It's not a big deal I was just curious what makes the Gelato ROM have more space than this ROM. Is it because this has more features? Also had a question, what does "Camera and Video Tweaks from the Sony Bravia" mean exactly? Tweaked in what ways? :-[

I wasn't aware that it was a L55C rom, I never really looked into it, my bad.

weird i seen your video.... has anyone else havingg issues with the facebook app?

Edit: clearing app data doesn't fix it? what about uninstalling then reinstalling the app?

Okay that's pretty cool

Re: [ROM] [VM701] Mobster Rom v1.2.5 update: 3/7

A boot loop occurs when performing a factory reset.

The dude just hard bricked his phone and you're going to give him a hard time? Really? To the original poster that factory reset his phone... I'm really sorry you did so. Unfortunately you've probably just bricked your device. Theres no available fix at the moment. With the Q i've seen a few people do this, and they're still able to get into recovery. Generally if you can get into recovery you're not bricked. But, you need to let people know if you can get into recovery on your device. If so, I'd recommend going to Mounts and Storage and formatting everything on the list except for the sd-card. Once you do so try to flash a new rom. You can't really repair the recovery.img because you cant access it from recovery to try and reflash the recovery. I am really sorry you went through this. You may have to return the phone/buy a new one. I've not seen anyone recover their device after Factory Resetting through settings. :/

Re: [ROM] [VM701] Mobster Rom v1.2.5 update: 3/7

I tried performing a factory reset through recovery and it just put my phone into a boot loop, so I just restored it. I wonder if that's what he did.

No Factory data reset will always delete your apps and data im just saying that instead of wiping caches you can just data factory reset (from recovery) you get a cleaner install which can usually fix most issues that people have with new roms

Well I backed up. Did the factory reset from recovery and then followed the rest of the instructions and after flashing the rom. I get a boot loop...

Re: [ROM] [VM701] Mobster Rom v1.2.5 update: 3/7

That is odd.... it shouldn't boot loop since installing the rom puts its own files into the phone..... as i mentioned before always have a backup since it backups your data a restore should fix your phone....

Id recommend formatting /system prior to install incase the updater-script doesn't do so. That is odd.. did you all wipe cache/wipe dalvik/factory reset then flash? Try adding format /system from mounts and storage to that list PRIOR to flashing and see what that does. Like mobsterz said though make a backup! Never had a rom boot loop that wasn't enabling like some nonstandard file structure for the device.

In an attempt to install the rom fresh, I selected "wipe data/factory reset" through the recovery. Anyone who knows the first thing about rooting should know not to try a software factory reset. A simple nandroid recovery of just my data folder got this rom up and running. However, it would be nice to be able to start with a fresh data folder.

Re: [ROM] [VM701] Mobster Rom v1.2.5 update: 3/7

i think this user called Mobstergunz is be very rude for not messages me back
editing: i had enough with person called Mobstergunz

i haven't gotten any messages.... but im sorry you feel that way.... i made this Rom hoping to inspire others to use this as a base for their rom/theme helping the community.... its fine if you guys don't want to use this rom i do have other roms that i can be working on for the triumph i think my next release might be the last for a while....

@ jcole20 - This Rom's updater-script formats and mounts the system for you it isn't necessary to do it in the recovery but it wouldn't hurt
