[ROM] Warm Z TwoPointTwo [RLS1][2/23/2011] Re-Engineered Nightlies [3/12/11]

So... the good news and the bad news... It installed on the first try.

<<please no rotten tomatoes>>

The good news is here's what I did.

Nandroid of CM7
Wipe Data
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik
Wipe Data
Wipe Cache
Install from SD

The first boot is a DOG, but probably no worse then others. The key is when the soft touch buttons lite up... your home free.

kaefbaml... try double wiping and see how that works.

hmmmm.....I am pretty sure that is what I told him to do a few pages back, I hope he reads this, also I tried to explain the CWM differences (which are not a big deal)... not so much about the ROM itself but mainly for the learning experience... and I hope it works for him.

I had to do that exact same thing twice also before it worked for me.

Thanks for checking this out. Ill be in here and CM7 alot now... XDA sucks or id be over there too ;)

I think there may be an intermittent bug in how Clockwork clears data. I've seen reports of others having to do multiple wipes on the 3.x roms. It's never been an issue for me but since so many in the thread were having issues I figured I'd do it twice as a precaution.

I just figured he really likes his camera and camcorder so he would really like this ROM...

can I flash a warmz nightly right over top of this, or do I need to rewipe and reinstall the nightlies and start from there?

well after reading about this rom from ssethv and pvillecomp i decided i wanted to give this rom a try but im also having trouble flashing. i have CWM 3.x and made sure i downloaded the correct link twice and then went in recovery cleared factory/cache/dalvic all three times each and then flash warm z from sd card but when it was in the process of installing it kept saying "removing old system" and the progress went off the screen then 30 seconds later its just said install complete with nothing being listed after "removing old system". then tried to reboot and wouldnt go past splash screen. so i tried again cleared everything twice and still stuck on splash screen. i just ended up restoring my nandroid of CM7.

Welcome to my world.... as you can see I'm still interested this rom is getting at me now that I can't try it.

I never did a double wipe so since I didn't ill be trying it again.. maybe right now.... wish me luck

Don - The Removing System progress screen and nothing else is normal. That's what I got too. How long did you wait for boot. You need to give it 10 - 15 min. Also try the double wipe of Data and cache before flashing.

Good Luck.

Well after an easy painless install process and set up, I caved and went back to my CM7 nandroid this morning. I know I didn't give it a "full" test drive but I think I'm spoiled/used to the full customization of CM. This ROM was very snappy and very fast, it looks great and worked well for the few hours I was playing with it but in all honesty I had a hard time reading the fonts and I've got 20/20! I know you can probably adjust that somehow but I'm pretty content with what I've got now.

Ill be honest, Im just happy you were able to get it running :) for real.... the more ROMS you Flash and the more you mess with your phone; the more you learn and the more you can help others, ya know what I mean.

and yes the FONTS suck and No you cant change them either. that is the main complaint at XDA....

I switched back to CM7 last night, but I made a nandroid of WarmZ, so now I can easily switch back and forth... the only time it is a pain in the ass is when you flash a ROM for the first time and have to set it up. but after you do that and make a nandroid of it, your good to go.... the reason I switched back is because of the wifi issue, i rely heavily on my wifi use (i have unlimited data) for its speed... anywho... don't be a stranger 'round these here parts... ill be in both forums helping ;)

After reading what kaefbaml went through trying to get his running i was expecting it be a nightmare. I think the trick is to start with the latest nightly, and the trick to THAT is to use the older clockwork 2.5.xx. Other than that, it was a standard ROM flash, I just had a hard time reading it.

So I got it to work! But I agree fonts and keyboard are small. And yes wifi mine wouldn't connect do they just not have it working? I need wifi as i watch my Netflix every night. I like what I see so far.... so ill be test driving today...

Read through the whole first page... Fonts and internal mem are some issues... just read it... and please give the ROM just one full day. I gave it 3 days and i am now back on CM 35... but I made a nandroid of the warm Z, so now it is super easy to switch back and forth... it only took me 10mins (laying in bed last night) to be completely back on CM, like i never left :) I really just love the sleek look of the new sense, but the fonts do suck for sure...

just let me know what you think... and if you have any more questions, you know the drill

I read the front something about emmc don't know what that is... and something about making it work from PC. Not my concern, wifi doesn't work and music isn't easy? Did I just buy something from atnt? This Tom's gets a fail from me cuz of that other than that I like. But cm7 will return tonight

Music is easy, keep it on your SD card..... this is in the OP
EMMC means 'Internal storage mount' aka internal memory. (not SD card)

* Added HTC Music with EMMC Support (Optional Install)(Thanks gmichaelow)
* Added Older HTC Music App With EMMC Support And Z HTC Music Revert (Optional Installs)
TAKE YOUR PIC
* Older HTCMusic w/ EMMC Support - update-Warm-Z-HtcMusic-No-EMMC.zip
* Revert Back to Newer HTCMusic w/ no EMMC Support - update-Warm-Z-HtcMusic-No-EMMC.zip
Just flash these like normal.

unfortunately, we are all spoiled with CM7 and how easy it is to install and use, trust me, no other ROMS are as smooth and easy as CM...thats becuase they have a team of superhumans working around the clock killing bugs and fixin issues. look on the bright side, your learning your phone more and more, and in the future you to can assist others, ya know what i mean? I had to go back to CM to becuase of wifi..

and what do you mean, you bought something from ATT?

No I was meaning atnt is locked ans just adding music to your phone is hard. My friends got a backflip.....
