It works. Great app! I hate to sound fussy but I'd rather be able to use the stock messenger app. Weird I know I also hate google voice.

Can you post the settings? I could receive but not send.

Ok, so, at the risk of sounding like a noob...lol. Does anyone else have the issue when they boot the phone up, that it says you have a voicemail and will repeat the voicemail alert indefinitely until you turn it off? I've always had this on CM ROMs so I was just wondering, is it just me, or is there a fix?

Go to Settings->Call Settings and uncheck Voicemail notifications. Then follow the directions from here using Method II (2) and you'll have Sprint VVM (Visual Voicemail) back and running.

You will begin to get texts from the number 9016 after doing this, simply disable notifications from the stock messaging app, and install a third-party messaging app such as Handcent and add the number 9016 to the blacklist.

This won't work unfortunately. This issue is caused by you having old voicemails on old non-android phone that you didn't clear when you upgraded to android. The only fix is to switch back to a non-android phone.. leave yourself a new vmail.. listen to it and clear them all from the vmail service. Then reactivate your android.. this was a major pain for me until then. The official forum about this is here:

Won't work? Well it does work and did work. I know this because I did it, and it's working :p

If that were the case, wouldn't the phantom voice mail icon show up on ALL ROMs and not just CM7 ROMs?

Re: [ROM][WIP] Unofficial CM7 (Gingerbread) - 7/15/2011

Did something really stupid, and I'm hoping someone can help. I rooted my phone fine, and got Xionia running, but then when I went to flash the rom I was distracted by my three year old and accidentally hit the reboot button after formatting but before flashing.

It's stuck at the LG screen and not going to Xionia. How bad is it?

Never mind, found out how to do a hard reset. Closest to a heart attack I've come in a while.

Actually all you had to do was pull battery, enter the recovery and just flash the rom.
Pwr+vol down+menu to enter recovery. Someone else did the samething.

I think the rom runs a lot smoother with the xionia15 kernel

I can't get VVM to work on this one. I have even tried after a clean flash of the rom. I am using the xda/cm7 method which has worked before for aosp. I am getting the "unable to play message". I

Use google voice. Works with any android build and doesn't have all these weird issues. Yes, it will deliver your sprint voicemails to your phone as well and in text format. :-)

Re: [ROM][WIP] Unofficial CM7 (Gingerbread) - 7/15/2011

Is there any way of running ##3282#? In those settings (along with APN settings, which you can get to by running Voice Dialer and saying OPEN A P N (pause after A,P and N) it will say "Open APNs" just click on it and it will reveal your APN's where you can edit it/them. But if you cant access the ##3282# menu settings I think you are stuck having to NAND backup, install a froyo build, editing the ##3282# then NAND restore...

Most of the bugs noted have been fixed upstream, so the next ath3nos build should good to go. With MMS problems, install the apns-conf.xml, remove the telephony database files, reboot and it should work.

Good info for those having issues.

USB Host

I use this rom to run linux on my phone and it would be very lovely if a wonderful dev would include a patch on turning a optimus s into a usb host. It would simply open a much bigger door for these little phones.

+
Phone can connect to any usb device supported by linux

-
Phone needs a powered hub to connect to anything and will no longer be a slave

So, maybe an on off switch to get the best of both worlds ^.^EDIT: Switch http://android.modaco.com/topic/327799-01feb-r3-usb-mode-host-slave-switcher/

Personally i want to connect my phone to my race car and have remote tuning abilities. Ex: car is on track driving and i am vnc'ing into phone changing variables. I have everything working, except for this piece of the puzzle. Addtionally i think the devs over at Mega Squirt would really love this ability to go with their open source development.

The apns-conf.xml in vendor/cyanogen/prebuild/common/etc is totally wrong in the Sprint MMS config. Hence why commit 4f2c1ec41d2afbbc3f20 killed MMS (though technically it was the CyanogenMod team that broke it). That file needs to be manually patched whenever you pull a new one in order to keep MMS working. I'll be submtting a pull request on that soon.

Hmmm, interesting... I have a CarPC on my RX8 (using microtech) wonder if I can connect a USB-to-Serial and connect it to this phone...
