I think I might have but I can't remember when (probably agood sign).

I love how there is a new build almost every day. Especially since ask you have to do (95% of the time) is just wipe cache and dalvik. I'll data maybe 1 time a week. Makes flashing roms almost painless.

Just flashed 19 and I will test it out if I still get rebooted I will try a full wipe.

Long time "lurker", infrequent poster. I have been running skyraider 3.5 and finally have it they way I like it. Loaded CM7 version 19 today and I was impressed. But it doesn't completely work well with an exchange activesync account and the security policy pushed by my IT department. So I am back to skyraider for now.

I suppose if I stick with the sense based roms, I will be OK. The settings in CM7 looked sweet! I guess I will keep an eye on this to see if there are improvements.

Great job to all. This is a great resource.

I was on skyraider for a long time to, I tried IncROM 1.2 and Love It, The animations are Sweet, Everything works perfect and Battery Life Is at least as good as sky if not better.
You should give it a try

Just a heads up to anybody using CM7. I just flashed Invisiblek's latest stable kernel (4.1) and its working really nice. Not sure if it will for everyday but for me its better than the stock one.

I appreciate the suggestion. I like the idea of a scaled back version of a rom but I must have full ability when it comes to my work exchange account. I will try this and post back my results.

Thanks
Scott

Greetings!!!

Firstly, thanks to the OP for list of ROMS!!! If I'm hijacking this thread, I apologize. Not my intent.

Pardon my noobish question, but I've successfully rooted and installed 1) SkyRaider 3.5 and now using Incredible Re-Engineered 2.20 (which I really like). However, I noticed my kernel version is now 2.6.32.17-HeyItsLou

That being said, 1) is it the appropriate kernel to use (i.e. HeyItsLou)? if not, what is?
2) How do you flash/install a kernel?

I've been searching (without much luck) for explanations of the different kernels. Seems like majority of the experienced "hackers" routinely change ROMS and Kernels to find the right combination.

If it helps any, I'm using a HTC Droid Incredible.

Also, noticed CM7 being used and recommended. It's not in the OP's list of ROMs. I'd like to give it a try. Where can I locate said ROM? or is CM6.1 recommended for my phone?

Thanks in advance,

V

It runs smooth. I can't tell if there has been any differences yet but they added a feature called "phone goggles". I am not sure what it really does though haha. The description below it says that it filters outgoing communication.

Phone goggles is an anti-drunk dialer/texter. You can set it up to prompt you to have to do a math problem if you try and call or text during certain hours or certain contacts. Now that I'm a family man it isn't very useful...sure could have used it a few years ago though.

First, thank you

Now about the kernels, kernels help change the speed, temperature, and battery life of the phone. Certain Roms have custom kernels already pre installed. This just means the Creator of the Rom thought this was the best kernel to use for the phone. Does not mean its the only one. You install a kernel just like you would a Rom. Download and flash.

The reason why I didn't post CM7 to the list was because I didn't want to add something so beta. Its not even beta. Its just something recommended for experienced users. However, if you feel like you're up to the challenge I will give you the link.

All the Roms listed in this thread are for the Incredible. CM6.1 is the stable version of Vanilla Android running 2.2. CM7 is the alpha or beta of Gingerbread.

Thought I would check what kernel I have.
Im on IncRom 1.2 and my kernel version is htc-kernel@u18000-build-149#1
I have No idea if that is a stock kernel or not
anyone know?

Just some words of advice, do not delete everything off of your SD card. I wanted to reorganize my card and get rid of all the garbage so deleted everything. Next thing I know, boot loops from hell. Tried flashing a back up and a new rom but still boot looped. I ended up having to unroot using ruu and then had to root all over again. It was such a pain in the butt. Right now I'm back on CM7

Haha you could say that. Atleast I know how fix my DInc if I almost brick it. The worst part was that the ruu didn't work the first time and it was at the HTC screen. I seriously thought I bricked it. I restarted my computer and tried it again and worked like a charm.

For those that dont know I plan on purchasing the Thunderbolt when it launches (supposedly in 2 weeks). At that time I will sadly discontinue updating this thread with new material. If someone would like to take over, you know how to contact me. =)

My apologies for those I inconvenience.

You trader Lol. There is a good chance I will be getting the thunderbolt too but I will still have Dinc so I can help others keep this thread up to date.

Haha I might be another trader if the data plan is reasonable. If it is more than 10$ additional im going to wait my contract out and jumpship to another carrier. Or I might just pay the etf soon. Idk

Flashed version 21 last night and it seems a stable as the other besides 16 for me. I had a bunch of issues trying to upgrade to 21 thou. First for some reason I couldn't get my sdcard to mount with my computer and kept getting connection time out while trying to download in Rom Manager. I ended up putting it on the phone storage since I was able to mount that and just moved it to the sdcard using Root Explorer. Anyone else have issue mounting their sdcard on 19? I would connect using USB and select mount and the phone would freeze requiring a battery pull. Did I just say "battery pull" I think I'm having flash backs of the BB Storm.
