Has there been any word on a more streamlined rooting method? I was just about to root tonight when I realized I need to update my sdk tools on the mac. So d/l those full updates at work tomorrow.

No, same speeds for me. 12 to 18 mbps download, about 2 mbps upload. Using the debloated ROM.
