Rooted and Overclocked, AMAZING!

go to droidforums and read the step by step. make sure u did it correctly.

well, if i didn't ... I'm screwed 'cause I can't even get past the Motorola logo screen to make any changes. I'll pull the battery, wait a few minutes and give it another shot. Thanks for all of your help guys. I need to get to work. I'll revisit this later in the day --

Every time I've flashed the rom (whether it was the official 2.0.1 upgrade or one of the two sholes runs i did last night), the subsequent boot up (seemingly) took an eternity.

Yes that usually happens to me also bit everytime their after its quick

Just reborn into recovery and flash the rom again this time wipe your data

I have to imagine prometheus is freaking out right now. Breathe buddy, breathe.

might be wise to wipe the whole thing, restore back to factory, and start over. I had 0 problems with the process, and actually found it to be quite straight forward.

1. install smupdater
2. run smupdater, root phone (reboot)
3. run smupdater, select rom, flash (reboot)
4. during reboot, backups are made, rom is flashed (reboot)
5. done done done.

I was lucky enough to get away with *not* wiping my /data, so my phone was the same before and after flashing the rom.

u arent supposed to wipe if u arent 2.1 already, right?

You shouldn't have to wipe data unless your coming from 2.1 or you get stuck in the reboot loop.

well, I couldn't stay away....

I walked away for a few minutes, showered, dressed and all of that (I work from home, so pajamas rule!)

Anyhow, it never came off the logo screen. I rebooted in sprevovery mode and now have several options:

--reboot system now
--wipe data/factory reset
--mount options
--backup/resstore
--install

what would you do?

How can you verify that SetCPU profiles are working? For example, I set my cpu to downclock to 550Mhz max if my battery is less than 100% (for testing purposes) yet the widget and the app are still showing the current battery at 800Mhz. Furthermore, my benchmark values are about the same (300).

Do you have to do something to make the changes take effect?

Thanks,

ok, did it.. did NOT do the wipe, told it keep my settings, and it went thru all of the motions and seems to be stuck again on the logo screen. wait? or go into recovery again and wipe?

Wait a few mins and if it doesn't work ho into backup/restore and do a simple nandroid backup once it finishes that back out to the main menu with the power button then wipe data and try and flash iT again. But while your doing that hope over to alldroid and download bugless beast. Ill tell you how to put that in your phone from recovery if the other things don't work

Thanks,

You will know when your battery hits that percent it wont go above that clock speed you set
