Rooting my droid is starting to get frustrating

Ive been using this video

and when I launch odin and put the pda in I press start and it loads about 1/4 and says failed, i have debugging on i have developer mode on and im on download mode i have no idea what is happening

As for if you updated, go into settings and see if you can move apps to your SD card.

It should be under the heading 'Storage'

What did i do wrong

Try a factory reset of your phone first. That way you can start from scratch.
