Rooting w/o PC?

Greetings. Unfortunately I'm going to be w/o my pc/internet for the next few weeks due to moving.

I noticed there was a way to root this way before LG's and Sprint's recent updates. Has there been any work arounds or headway made on restoring that capabilitie recently? My SW version is LS670ZVD.

yes its possible to root your optimus s without a pc.

theres gingerbread apk over at XDA that works real good, i used it myself

You do not need to downgrade any more, even if you accepted the OTA update. Please read the rooting guide in the Rooting, ROMs and Hacks subforum.
