S Pen found to have cracks around button!

Have any users found that their s pen has developed cracks in the plastic around the button and a slight bend in the shape of the s pen? I have not used my s pen very much since I bought the phone new from Samsung. Just happened to pull it out and noticed a small crack near the button. I ordered a replacement genuine new s pen from Amazon only to find that new one developed the same bend and crack in the same area! The phone has not been dropped and the new s pen is only a week or so old. The only theory I have is that the s pen is getting heated up somehow while internally inside the phone and the heat is warping it and causing the hairline cracks. Both s pen's functions fine without error but my fear was whether it would break off inside the phone. The only thing that I do that might contribute to the heat is that I normally use the Samsung Fast Charging pad to charge my phone most of the time but when I remove the phone from the pad it has not been very hot. Any feedback from other Note 9 users with this issue would be great!

No issues here, but if it's always at the same point for you, I'd imagine it is something to do with either the inside of the phone or the way the pen is handled (which, according to what you mention, you don't use that much, so don't think it's that). Do you feel any 'interference' when putting the pen back in? Are you using any special cases? The charging coil, to my knowledge, is not near the SPen but heat from the processor might be doing something (again, I haven't noticed that on mine though).

just pulled mine out to inspect it, no cracks . should be warranty call Samsung for replacement even though you bought another on Amazon.

I have used a iblason full body case on my unlocked new Note 9 since I bought it around Nov2018. There is a slight bend in both s pen's at this point but there still is no "interference" or resistance when inserting or removing the s pen. Again they both work fine as far as functionality. I have taken the phone from the case and examined it for any bends or disformation but the phone has no flaws or scratches. I am stumped as to the cause. I have dropped the phone with the original s pen but the case prevented any damage. No drops with the new s pen but the same hairline cracks and both s pens when observed from the side has a bend at the crack and both cracked in the same place. I wonder if the rigidity of the case and the shock of the drop may have contributed to the crack or maybe just defective s pens. I have the ocean blue with the yellow s pens. It is my understanding that although the phones are made in Korea, the s pens are made in China. I've seen reports of broken s pens where the end that clicks in and out of the phone had broken off and the s pen was stuck inside the housing but not many cracks mentioned.

That's definitely stress breakeage, don't think heat is the problem here. There's either something bent badly inside the phone or maybe you just have strong hands when handling the pen? Might also be from pulling the pen out or pushing it in at an angle (although that could probably crate some track marks on top, first).

I am very careful with my electronics and have always handled the s pen with care. I just wonder how much shock the s pen goes through in a drop. Although this case is highly protective, it is very rigid other than the back clear/rubberized parts that snaps around the front similar to the unicorn beetle pro design. There is nothing soft like TPU materials other than the four bumpered corners. The few drops the phone has had resulted in no physical damage at all but I wonder if the stiffness of the case contribute to enough shock to crack the pen inside. I've witnessed other Note 9 owners drop the phone and have the s pen pop halfway out of the housing during the impact and that's with different cases on them!

I've dropped mine in a very generic (not super thin, though) case at least 5 times and the pen always popped out and still looks OK. So unless the hit was at the right spot, I don't think this is it.

What he says. The button area would be the weakest area to crack if the pen is slightly bent.

Hey guys I have been looking into the possible problem that could have caused the warping and cracking both of my spens since this last post. I'm now looking closer at the case that I have have used on the phone since I've owned it. I've been using a IBlazon full body case with built-in screen protector since I've owed the phone.
That case is pretty much sealed up similarly to an OtterBox case. I also looked at my charging methods and 90% of the time I use the Samsung wireless fast charger to charge my phone and the rest of the time it is plugged into the factory fast charger.
I temporarily switched over to using a Samsung LED case and notice when I remove the phone from the charger and various times when I am using it I can feel that the phone is warm from the charger or during use.
I am wondering if the heat generated from the charging circuit and the phone being in that sealed I blason case could be heating the internals of the phone enough to slightly warp my spen inside and contribute to the cracks I previously posted pictures of.
Do any of you guys use full body cases with built in screen protectors like the Iblason, OtterBox or Supcase unicorn beetle pro?
What kind of cases do you guys use on your note9? I think the problem may be a heat dissipation issue because of the design of the case holding the phones heat inside and that causing my s pen problems
I have asked several other note9 owners if they had had problems will spen cracking and they all said no other than the tip breaking when removing. however they do admit that the s pen on the note 9 is very fragile. Again what cases are you guys using out of curiosity?

I just read the entire thread and you made me look dammit! I use my pen regularly AND use the iBlason UB Pro case. I've had the phone in this case since Nov 2, 2018 and, I'm glad to say, no cracks or bend?
