S22 Ultra Camera Reviews

It's definitely a lot more punchier on the S22 Ultra than the iPhone.

Samsung has always preferred to go with the over saturated look for as long as the Galaxy line has existed lol. Google and Apple try to get as color accurate as possible. I like both. Apple has new settings in at least their Pro cameras called Photographic Styles with presets giving the option of the punchier colors for those who like it that way.

I like the improvements in their zooms though.. the 3x and 10x optical and the AI seems to be working good even to 100x and 100X doesn't seem too be as gimmicky as when it first came out. That’s the only reason I’d consider upgrading to the S22U from my N20U and only if I could do it without spending too much out of pocket to upgrade… a couple of hundred at most. The next years camera should have Samsungs 200 megapixel sensor and could be worth waiting for.

The Tech Chap did a great comparison and the pet photos were surprisingly excellent.

Yeah just watched that video. Photos were excellent. I thought it went back and forth between the iPhone and S22U. Some shots I liked the Galaxy, some I liked iPhone.

Video still in iPhones favour though. S22U still has jitter in videos. Quality was good though aside from that.

Seems like the S22U might have a pretty great camera that competes with the best of the best.

It's not that Samsung prefers it, it's the users that prefer it. They hold focus groups to determine how to make their photos look better, participants always prefer the punchy bright exposure and saturated colors. I'm a photographer and I like to shoot RAW for accuracy but can't deny most photos look better when edited the way Samsung does, it's attention grabbing.

10x zoom is about the most I use. Some of the YouTubers say that there is improvements so I'm excited.

I rarely use zoom, but the 30x optical zoom seems pretty impressive from what I've seen in some videos.

I agree, as someone who used to qualify as a photographer, and will again say, photos are subjective to the viewer and more so for saturation of the photo. And more people will go to the saturated photo; since they usually have no relation to the actual colors photographed. They weren't there.

Samsung S22 Ultra vs iPhone 13 Pro Max Camera Test

S22U does really well here. He says the biggest weaknesses is video and shutter lag - two things which I'd definitely agree with when I had the S21U. Seems like Samsung haven't really made much headway here. Not improving the shutter lag is especially disappointing to me as that was one of the more frustrating points of the S21U for me.

I would wait for more reviews or your actual use and preferences. I just watched and I agree with some but not all and his shutter lag was not really a good example (my opinion). Also, although I like his reviews, he is, in my opinion, an iPhone junky.

But I have to say, for any normal use I will get out of the use of this phone will be the telephoto and just normal shots around the house or when traveling without my Nikons. Prefer to take critter shots from a distance around here.

But still, more anxious to try out the cell monitor app to test signal strengths and to see if I can actually, walk into WY from my House and talk on the phone.
