well, i'm getting excited and can't wait. but, i really hate the way samsung does it by the pre-order and then making us wait at least 2 weeks+ before it arrives.

look what apple does: they make their announcement big show and they always say: "available this Friday". right?

why have all the hoopla and press and excitement and then letting all that energy die down? doesn't make sense.

maybe my memory isn't as great you guys, but i can't even seem to remember a single time that any pre-order bonus amounts ever going to reducing the purchase price of the phone!

then again, maybe i forgot.

No I can't remember it going towards the device only accessories
I'll have to look at my receipts. Maybe it was some other credit & not the reservation gift credit. I just remember receiving a credit that I used against the cost of the device & I was pretty happy about it. 😊

Did you order from the website or the app? Just curious if I need new glasses.
☺️
I used the Samsung website through the Rakuten app. On the checkout page, there was the box that allowed you to check "signature required". I left it blank. Ended up being home when my S23 Ultra was delivered, but it was nice to have the option this time around. Sometimes I'm only 10 to 15 minutes away from my house, so not having to wait around the day of the delivery was nice.

GregglesTV said in one of his YouTube videos that Samsung is planning on getting the pre-orders out as soon as possible. Last year was the quickest I received my phone after pre-ordering. It was about 11 or 12 total days after ordering it I believe.

Would love love to have the S24 models announced on the Wednesday the 17th and delivery by Friday the 26th! make it so Samsung!

This is true. We had the option to click a box that would require a signature. If it was left unchecked no signature was required.
Hmmm, that's interesting. I wonder, if I can change my default address to my work address. Or does Samsung require the delivery address to be the same as the billing address. It would be great I could get delivery to my work address.

I ordered my s22 Ultra through the Samsung app & didn't see any delivery options. FedEx required a signature on that delivery. However, later I read that if you ordered from Samsung's website you could choose to require or decline needing a signature. Last August, FedEx left my Husband & my Samsung Watch 6 orders on the front porch & sent a text with a delivery photo.
I don't know if I would want an expensive package just sitting out there until I got home from work. Ideally, delivery to my work address would the solution to this.

I've been receiving my Samsung deliveries at work for years. Both in LA and TX. Billing and shipping don't have to be the same address.

@runfar262:
Why don't you change your default address now, well prior to the pre-order date? That way, there's nothing exceptional that you'd have to do on the pre-order day itself!

Just a thought.

In 2022, when I ordered the S22 Ultra 5G unlocked from Samsung, it was a nightmare actually receiving the delivery of the phone from Fedex. 1st delivery attempt, I was not home. I then left work early a few times but on some days, Fedex did not attempt to deliver. During the next couple of weeks, I missed the delivery twice more. So, I resigned myself to the fact that the package was going to be sent back to Samsung. It was only a miracle that the Fedex delivery man knocked on my door at 8pm one night for a 4th delivery attempt and I was home. So the phone was ordered 2/9/22 and I got it on 3/2/22. My question is this, here we are two years later, is Samsung still placing restrictions on the phone orders? I was not allowed to change the delivery address, pick up at a Fedex location or any other location. As much as I would love to have a new phone, I don't know if I have the intestinal fortitude to go through another three week game of cat and mouse with Fedex. How have y'all fared?
Not a Samsung, but I had a nightmare FedEx experience trying to get my Pixel 8 Pro just recently. After FedEx delivering it to the wrong house (different subdivision, road name, and house number - more on this later) Google agreed to send me another one. That phone was to be delivered on December 19th but instead it just lingered in FedEx's land of misfits and confusion. Just this morning I got a notification from FedEx that it's to be delivered today

Thankfully I haven't been waiting that long as the original 8 Pro was delivered to a house with decent folks. The gentleman that lived there took it upon himself to drive it over to me a bit later in the day. That's when he told me his house number isn't even the same as mine!! When your job is to deliver to specific addresses, how the heck does this happen?!

But FedEx screwed the pooch twice ... And they very often do with deliveries to my house.

We use Rakuten but I don't remember seeing signature required box. I hope it's 15% again like last year I think that's what we got on our 23U. We just got watch 6's a while b ack and mine was 12% and later on in the evening I ordered my husbands and his was 15%. Hopefully our delivery will be before we go to work or on my off day but Fed-Ex usually comes before we leave we work 2nd shift.

The Rakuten app doesn't have the signature required option, that's on the Samsung site that the Rakuten app takes you to during the order confirmation stage, that does. Just FYI.

I'm hoping we get anything 10% cashback or above on launch day for Samsung purchases from Rakuten. Fingers crossed.

Yes I understand that I just don't remember seeing it last year when we got our 23U. I love Rakuten we both 1st joined when we bought our 23U and got so much back plus $30 for new member I think. But yes I hope 10% at least also.

Hey all! Nice to see so many familiar faces in here

Of course I'll be upgrading my S23 ultra to the S24 ultra!

Hate that the $50 credit can't be used for the phone but worse case scenario I can always try to resell things I won't use I guess.

One more week to go!
