Yep, changed my launcher on day 5 of having the S5. One of the beautiful things about Android! Options!

The reason I keep going back to Apple is the apps and the polish of iOS. Show me Garage Band on Android or an Akia MPC app. No app maker takes Android apps serious. Example, look at the Chase app. When was the last time it was up dated for Android? Now look at iOS Chase app. It's not even it the same league. Chase redesigned the entire app from top to bottom for iOS but hasn't done anything for Andriod in over a yr I believe. Why is that? This is a major bank. Chase has even partnered with Apple for Applepay. Navy Federal and a few others are joining Apple later this yr. Why couldn't Google Wallet do that?

That's all because their are more iOS users in the United States than Android users. I don't know the numbers, but everywhere I go all I see is iPhones. The only Android phones I ever see are Samsung devices. Rarely do I see a HTC, Motorola, LG, etc.

Because a launcher doesn't remove the bloat and can introduce other issues.

I really don't think it's too much to ask for Samsung to improve their software. HTC, Motorola, and LG all managed to with far fewer resources than what Samsung has at their disposal.

Turned off bloat.

I really don't think it's too much to ask for Samsung to improve their software. HTC, Motorola, and LG all managed to with far fewer resources than what Samsung has at their disposal.

you can always remove Touch wiz completely and adopt a whole new launcher as the default system launcher. I used to do it on my S2 all the time and I also currently did it on my HTC M7: I completely removed "PRISM"which is the HTC blink feed and sense 6 launcher and I use MIlauncher or/and "google now" launcher widely available for just about most devices.

of course "root" is require but there is also a few ways to remove "bloat" with out rooting, you can find them with just a quick search on XDA

Maybe but this is no different than Harley motorcycles. They too hold their value, not because they're the better bike necessarily but because of the demand which is a result of the culture Harley has built just as Apple has.

The value/high pricing use to be true. But you can get old iPhones for free. I thought I saw that cheap iphone 5s free when the i6 comes out. I felt bad for a coworker who bought it. A little.

iphones are not easier to use. My 70 year old dad had a Galaxy S2 and rarely has problems using it. Doesn't use it for much, but likes it. I have a coworker with an iphone and had it a few months and I had to teach her how to send photos to an email--I'd never done that before but it wasn't hard to figure out. And yes she tried after I suggested it to her (new grandson pic). Came back to ask me how.

iphones are not easier to use. My 70 year old dad had a Galaxy S2 and rarely has problems using it. Doesn't use it for much, but likes it. I have a coworker with an iphone and had it a few months and I had to teach her how to send photos to an email--I'd never done that before but it wasn't hard to figure out. And yes she tried after I suggested it to her (new grandson pic). Came back to ask me how.

I would have to disagree. I just sold my iphone 4s for $200. Get on Craigslist or ebay and you will see how much they're going for. Iphones have always held a a value after years of use.

As for ease of use, the iphone is hands down easier to use. There is much more that you need to do with a galaxy. From trying to tune it to get better battery life to just understanding the operating system. An iphone is just right there in front of you. Start an app and use it. Exit the app, it turns off without having to force quit it.

Both phones have their uses. Iphones are more refined and smooth running. Android has more options to upgrade memory and freedom to do things on the phone.

Oh you're talking full price. Then maybe. But in contact, really no difference anymore.

I never played mine to get better battery life and I have good battery life. Rarely charge it at work like my old phone. Only time is if I play with it a lot because we're not busy or I'm going out for the evening and want to be sure of battery life for pics or boredom. Mine was set up with apps, icons, etc. I played with that because I want my most used apps on my screen and the rest hidden in my app drawer. Now android will put an app on the screen when you download it. I move or removed it. I like all my games on one screen . So casual users will have the app on screen, ready to go, no thinking or tinkering involved. My dads are all over the place.

To be honest the apple pay seems interesting but other than that I'm sticking with my s5. I'm glad that Apple is finally coming out with a bigger screen but as for the Cpu and ram it's a bit disappointing.

I believe the issue there was just physical dimensions. They've kept their phone small so that limits the size of the battery they could put in it

I use Dropbox to get my pictures into iPhoto on my Macbook Air. I can tell you exactly what I did when I get home this evening. But it's just as easy as with an iphone!

Can't you use photo stream. My photos from my iOS devices automatically get transfered to my windows laptop via photo stream.

I guess I go by my sister who is as non-technical as the day is long. She uses an iPhone after having brought back an Android because it was just to much for her (how did we ever become sisters? ). As for my other sisters, there are a large group of people I think who simply want to talk and text and use some apps. Nothing else is important, in which case I'd say the iPhone is just fine for them. I have always wanted to push my phone to the limits of technology and there isn't much to do on an iPhone beyond the apps. I also like my phone to tell me as much as possible just by glancing at it (i.e. widgets). It's also why I really like Windows Phone as well, because I can make it "mine" and because the live tiles give me information without going into the app. I truly wish WP had more apps because I really do love the interface. Very simple to use and probably easier than iPhone even. The one area iPhone always was better than the others was with SIRI but I'm thinking Cortana is hot on its heals.

I said it a million times and I'll say it again. iPhone 6 and 6+ are just Apple's way of catching up to Samsung's screen size and HD cams.

All the buzz is based on Jobs's legacy of innovation. He made the next iPhone the phone to have. So now, even if the product is unremarkable, people line up down the block to get one.

Besides a better battery life, there are other things you can get on a Samsung Android phone like the Galaxy S5 or the recently announced Note 4: a stylus, a heart-rate sensor and the ability to operate it without touching the screen. These are bells and whistles that few people use.

The other Galaxy attribute I wish the iPhone 6 shared is waterproofing, though it's also one reason the Galaxy S5 is thicker than the Galaxy S4.​
