S9+ Email Problems

Android Central Question

I have had my S9+ for about 2 weeks now and am having an issue with my IMAP emails from my work account using the stock email app. More often than not I do not get a notification of a new email. When I do get a notification and I open the email app all my new emails are marked as read even though I have not opened the email in the app or on my desk top. I have tried using a number of other apps as well and they all do the same thing. I do not have this problem with my personal email (gmail) using the Gmail app.
