Samsung.com Orders

tl;dr: With an S21 Ultra trade-in, my S22 Ultra (256GB, unlocked, green) totals $437.49 (plus tax), and comes with $300 of Samsung Credit. But there are some caveats.

I pre-ordered yesterday (Feb 9) via the Shop Samsung app, which offers a $250 Samsung Credit (instead of the standard $200), plus the $50 reservation credit (which I received email confirmation of prior to the pre-order, but nothing yet since placing the pre-order). With my trade-in, the app cited a pre-tax total of $462.49, with an additional $25 discount to be applied at checkout because I chose the Affirm payment option.

However, the $25 discount was not in fact applied, and an unexplained $12.50 charge was added instead, for a total of $474.99. But an online Samsung Chat rep confirmed that the correct total should be $437.99, and I should expect a refund of the difference after the phone ships. I was careful to save screenshots of the order process in case there was any dispute, and of course I saved the chat transcript.

I believe the 250 credit normally includes the extra 50. At least that's the way it has been in the past My issue was that I only could get 200 on the web verses 250 on the app.

The affirm discount was hidden on the left side of the order page by clicking on a breakdown. At least it was for me. Just kept getting errors trying to use affirm so I gave up because didn't want the white 256 to disappear again after more than 2 hours of issues

Got the Phantom Black Ultra 256gb with some cases. I didn't need any of the other accessories.

I may end up cancelling; I really don't need this phone. I'm perfectly happy with my N20U. The preorder madness got my juices flowing. Idk... We'll see.

Congrats! This was the worst 12 hours of technological hell I have ever been through. Was a huge relief when my order finally got confirmed.

In hindsight the delay made me go back and use Rakuten so I ended up getting $141 in cash back which they’ve already credited to my account. I’ll get an additional 5% from the credit card I used for the order.

I was so frustrated yesterday I didn’t bother trying to order any accessories. I’ll see what they have available once they send the $250 e-certificate.

mine finally went through on samsung.com

I noticed this "faster" thing too. Wonder what they mean.

one odd thing though: just below the details of the order placed, where it says "PREORDER", there is a word under the preorder word:

"FASTER"

what in the world does that mean?

it is under the preorder word for the S22 Ultra, the Pro buds, and the 45-watt charger as well.

weird.

I didn't notice any options for faster shipping but was dealing with just to place a order lol how fun

Two? Very glad google screwed up my Pixel 6 Pro orders twice. Locally, I have heard some bad things about the phone and reception. However, the mountains sure don't help.

Yeah got a second one because I wanted to check to see if it was a phone issue. If the second phone was fine, then yeah my original one was a lemon and I'd try to get it fixed. But when the second Pixel Ajay had issues I just gave up on the phones. I've contacted Google to return the second phone where I'll get a full refund.

Hm, that's possible, although the app's home-page advertisement is still saying "Get $250 instant Samsung Credit" for pre-ordering an S22 Ultra, which looks like a general offer to everyone using the app.

Not for me. The app quoted the same pre-checkout total whether or not I selected Affirm, and promised a $25 reduction at checkout if Affirm was used. I successfully chose Affirm payment, but the price did not come down at checkout.

Mine just said 'fast' shipping after I finally got order to go through. I didn't look and see what difference it was.

Just saw Someone posted this link to get the extra 250 https://events.release.narrativ.com/...74699799071385

It states:
Limited time only: $250 Instant Samsung credit (includes your $50 bonus)

Tempting but I'm not going to cancel and re-order because I'm afraid I'll lose something else....lol.
I could re-order 1st but it's just not worth the hassle. I'll get credit after shipping

It's not wasteful with elastic computing. Simply spin up a few extra servers for a day or so on one of the cloud providers, then remove them after a day or so. A lot of companies do this when they experience a surge (like during a special event or sale). It would literally have cost about the same as 1 or 2 S22 Ultras.

Still have not recovered from the 12 hour ordeal that was me trying to order my S22 Ultra and accessories. A little pissed they ran out of the new 45 watt chargers. Hoping the S23 pre-order will go much smoother.
