Samsung.com Orders

The NY Times is reporting that Samsung just closed a factory in Korea due to the coronavirus.

Well if our phones are delayed due to coronavirus I'd be okay with it. Lives are at stake. That said, while I'm no logistics expert, I would assume that the vast majority of launch date phones should already be manufactured, packed and ready to go.

I'd be ok with it also. I'd be ok with a delayed release. At the very least extend the promo dates and give it to everyone that preorders.

Can't you cancel and reorder? I must have done that 3 times already lol till I made sure I got all the discounts u could. Unless whatever you ordered is out of stock now which I'd check before hand

I'm sure I could but with my luck they would run out before I could re-order and then I would be left crying like a baby. :D I shall leave it as it is and sign up for Rakuten for future purchases. Anyone care to share a referral link so you can get referral credit?

Completely agree, good to remember what is really important... Health, Family, good Friends...also agree that there is plenty of stock already stateside ready to ship to cover the initial launch...supply chain would require that but those waiting for the shipments after could be delayed? Once we get our units we can start sharing the manufacture date so we can see for sure...

i agree, of course, that health is of paramount importance and if closing the factories can improve upon that group's health, by all means do what is necessary.

i had to smile and chuckle when i read @trucksmoveamerica#AC's comment:

just give us OUR phones (OUR = pre-order early-bird-gets-the-worm-folks). everyone else can wait! ;) ha ha ha.

Interesting article ...It seems we should not have to worry as I read the article and it says;
"The company assembles the majority of the phones in Vietnam and India, so you don't need to fear a Galaxy supply bottleneck anytime soon"
Just FYI

“The facility is located in Gumi and only produces a small percentage of Samsung's high-end devices, mostly for its domestic South Korean market. The company assembles the majority of the phones in Vietnam and India, so you don't need to fear a Galaxy supply bottleneck anytime soon”

From Android police article about factory shutting down.

Correct. There was an article recently that noted how Apple is poorly positioned because their factories are in China however Samsung is fine because their factories are in Vietnam.

S20 Ultra pre-ordered! Used the 10% cash back from Ratakuen and a 5% off referral code.

Here's mine if anyone needs one: ref-j4cdf8

That's the Z Flip and Fold manufacturing facility that's in Korea. Most of Samsung's phones are assembled in Vietnam. The parts still come from China though, so there could still be supply issues.

I would hope since they ship a week from Monday/Tuesday that the ones we are getting are already made and in US/Europe, etc.

My wife has a S9 and was finally thinking about upgrading. I seem to recall from previous phones/comments that you can't have 2 orders with a trade in at same time, anyone know how that works? I don't want to start an order for her and it hang mine up. Otherwise can go to t-mobile for her's.

So looks like the 512 GB unlocked Ultra has slipped to ships by March 13th on the final checkout page if you missed ordering early and try to pre order now.

That's why always place pre order asap once it opens

PS : on the main page still says ship by 4th but you have to keep an eye on shipping date on the final checkout page which is where it changes.

At least still have it, all of the Carrier 512s sold out yesterday a.m.

with all this talk of folks who are ordering today seeing delayed arrival dates of the S20 Ultra 512gb, may i ask if anyone who had pre-ordered 2 nights ago, i.e. shortly after the start of pre-ordering at midnight Eastern time zone, have you noticed that your expected date changing on your Order Status on Samsung.com please?

thanks.
