Samsung.com Orders

This is my first time preordering direct from Samsung. I've always used JOD until T-Mobile decided to ask for down payments so high that JOD no longer has any appeal. Anyway, my S20 Ultra 128GB in gray shows an estimated delivery date of 3/6 in the Samsung app. Are these estimations usually accurate or is it common for it to arrive earlier? Does Samsung usually ship signature required? I only ask because I'm going to try to be at home when the device is delivered.

Mine was too this morning, I went through PayPal and the charged posted today.
I believe PayPal works little differently than credit cards and they can't do a authorization hold like how they can go on credit/debit cards. So with PayPal the charge goes thru immediately even though it's a pre order and unlike credit cards which just have an authorization hold and the actual charge only goes thru before shipping.

Just curious when did you place your order and you didn't see PayPal charge that time?

I ordered around 1030pm on 2.20 and no, I didn't see the charge until this morning.

the pending hold i saw on my card when i placed my order (it happened almost right away) has now disappeared. i wonder if it auto deletes after a certain number of days? it's been 4 days now, i pre-ordered around 12:45am Friday morning (it felt like Thursday night ;)

anyone else's pending charges went away?

Yes it falls off and that's how standard credit card processing works for preorder, backorders and stuff which doesn't ship immediately.

"When you place a preorder, retailer will send an authorization hold request to your card issuer. The authorization hold is not an actual charge and will eventually expire and drop off the account based upon the time frame set by your card-issuing bank. If the authorization hold expires before the item’s release date or before the order is ready to be shipped, the authorization will automatically renew. If any attempt to renew the authorization fails, the order will automatically be canceled. You won’t be charged for your order until it ships."

I was looking on the Verizon thread since someone mentioned them starting to get shipping notifications. They're not. It was some ***** messing with people.

What a surprise

It'll be very surprising if it ships before 2nd earliest.

The guy got excited... It was the shipping notification for the trade in box.

But there are some showing they are being charged already.
