The guy got excited... It was the shipping notification for the trade in box.

But there are some showing they are being charged already.

Let's see, unless we see a significant number of people reporting, I don't take it seriously with few reports. There is lot of confusion with people not understanding difference between pending charges/authorizations etc.

Not saying there is absolutely no chance of shipping early but I'll take it with a grain of salt.

the pending hold i saw on my card when i placed my order (it happened almost right away) has now disappeared. i wonder if it auto deletes after a certain number of days? it's been 4 days now, i pre-ordered around 12:45am Friday morning (it felt like Thursday night

anyone else's pending charges went away?

My pending charge was there yesterday, isn't there today. Leads me to believe they are getting ready to make the charge permanent here soon.

The next charge will be when they package for shipping. This is when another thing happens.. With the pending charge, dropping charge and then another charge popping up, triggers dinner cards fraud and denies the charge

I have zero intel if it ships on Monday or tomorrow or in 10 days

I can only go by my personal experience on the past couple of releases. Doesn't mean it'll be true this time. It's just a data point and most likely will be the case but it can change since Samsung is the one in charge and they can ship whenever they want.

I paid through PayPal as well and my card was charged the first day. It shows as a pending transaction with a hold on the money.

Your card has not been charged. This is just an authorization they use to verify the card and make sure the card will handle the charge when it is finally made. No money has been charged to your card yet. When the card is actually charged that will mean that the shipping process is about to begin.

So far, none of the supposed "charges" people are sounding off about in here sound like actual charges, they are likely just auths.

Yeah PayPal generally goes thru immediately, it’s like ACH and they are different compared to credit card processing. In fact have seen some sites say that as well when ordering via PayPal, forgot which one.

Here is the answer straight from the source, as expected standards procedure just like every other retailer ??????

“When does my payment method get charged?

Samsung will not charge you until your order has been shipped. At the time you place your order, we'll request from your financial institution to pre-authorize your card for the total amount plus all applicable taxes, fees, and shipping charges (if any).

Note: Orders placed with PayPal are immediately charged after the order has been placed.”

Samsung FAQ states that PayPal you will be immediately charged and credit card charges get posted only when the orders ship. I posted link to the FAQ few posts above.

My order status just changed from "order placed" to "in process" and the "cancel item" button has disappeared... huzzah!

They dont ship freebies first in case you cancel order. Exception is the 35$
