Re: Trade in program. Am I too late?

That's what I'm hoping. Because UPS didn't load my Note 8 onto the plane the day it was suppose to ship out and then the next day because if Irma it was delayed yet again and sat in Miami for an entire week. I got an email saying to send my device in by sept 20th and I went to the shipping store on Sat but it didn't get picked up by Fedex until this morning and it is shipping ground. They better not screw me over when it was NOT my fault UPS didn't get it onto the plane and then Irma delayed it. I will raise hell and if Samsung does not refund the trade in charge I will go to my card company and local media.

You're getting mad before you have any reason to as far as the trade-in is concerned.

Unfortunately my wife went into labor 6 weeks early and she was in Atlanta for business, So I had to jump on a flight from Buffalo to Atlanta right away so it's sitting at my house in buffalo.

Thanks to Samsung for promising a date and missing it by 4 days. Would have been nice to have a nice camera and a phone that worked during this tough time. This is really unacceptable and I've spoke to 3 different reps before the promised date and they BSed me and told me lies. I wasn't even a jerk to them.

Lost a lot of respect from Samsung. A LOT. Especially when I was a Note 7 owner and went through that BS and was told Because I was a N7 owner I would receive it sooner. BS
 
Anyone getting at stores or carriers are getting the pre ordered phones!! You have my phone.
Telling you that they underestimated the amount of pre orders and are making the decision to make sure the demand for instant buyers are met. Samsung is saying make sure those orders are met and they will take a chance that a majority of fools like us will wait.
Looks like they are already behind in production that is why we are not getting the phones.
All the people that wait and call customer service gets the run around wait for tracking number no explanation -no eta- no nothing.
I find it insulting when these robots in CS say pre order date was an estimate date. I asked where does the ad say date is estimated-why would I pre order to make sure I get the phone on time so why are stores and carriers getting my phone and I have to wait? Isn't that a pre order? How insulting!
I am doing the loyalty program with $425 trade in. I have too much to lose by walking away. Didn't I get enough abuse and aggregation with Note 7 well getting it AGAIN! We should have been the first to get the preorders! Not most of the people that actually recieved it early-sorry guys who got it.
Samsung is giving us round around as a loyal Note buyer.
Shame on Samsung- why no press on this delay for pre orders. It certainly sounds are a lot of customers this has happened to. Based on hold times for CS. Not hearing anything on news or you tube-or from any of these reviews out there. Come on Apple LG bring it up. Am I bitter yes I ordered the loyalty based on CEO and immediately orfered on August 24th! That guy who posted cancelled and got right away from Best Buy has my phone! Sorry....just making a point if you know what I mean!

I have question for the guys who have got their phone. I only going to receive the Note 8 and the wireless charger. The memory card still says Pre-order. do you have any idea, when am I going to receive the memory card?
 
Well, had I ordered my phone from Verizon, I'd have my Note 8 by now. First I was told it would be shipped by the 15th, I called yesterday and was told it would ship this week. Today I was notified due to a high volume of orders, my Note 8 won't be shipped until the week of Oct. 8! I'm starting to wonder if the $425 discount for being a Note 7 purchaser is worth it. So much for putting the Note 7 customers as a priority in shipping. Frustrated. I hope it's all worth it in the end.

Sorry you didn't get yours yet, but it'll be worth it. And I had a Note 7 too. Samsung more than compensated us for the trouble in my opinion. I bet no other smartphone maker would've done near what they did. Not to mention I think the whole battery thing was blown out of proportion to begin with. And you'd wish more bogus press on them over an awesome product in high dmeand? Look at all the freebies they've given out from the Note 7 til now. I have 3 256gb sd cards, wireless charger, and a VR from these past 2 phones. Plus, they've given the opportunity to buy the Note 8 essentially for half off. Just hang in there man. Just think, if it weren't for these forums and seeing others get theirs you probably wouldn't really even be concerned about the delay.
 
If true about shipping week of the Oct 8th then something is wrong!
I checked site and went to place order from directly from Samsung the Verizon Version phone and going through the steps before placing the order it says will ship week of September 17th.
In reference to the post that said Shipments will be delayed until Week of October 8th:
If that is actually true then there is something seriously wrong with these pre-orders. How can they do that? Can they do that?
Can that be verified-I can't believe they would do that! If so, that is definitely wrong and says it all.

Looks like it's when you give it to Samsung's authorized shipping provider which is Fedex. Fedex got it yesterday.

However the computer program Samsung uses apparently automatically says to have it in by sept 20th in the email I got and my Samsung account. Maybe they consider receiving the device when UPS picks it up and is ready to ship?

Either way it looks like I got it in in time and supposed to be in Dallas on Thur.

You disclaim any and all right, title or interest in and to the Trade-In Device, including the right to sell, dispose, or otherwise collect, where applicable, the its value. You should ship only the Trade-In Device to Samsung. Discard accessories you no longer need in accordance with your local trash and recycling regulations. No trade in value is offered on anything other than your Trade-In Device itself.

Well said. I'll deal with a little delay and frustration to get the $425 off personally. I can understand the frustration, but the deal from Samsung is more than fair and worth waiting for, IMO.

Just to let you know I am certainly not saying Samsung has not more than compensated for the Note 7 issue. I liked the V20 and was 80% going to the V20. Love the Note series but hate to say $949 ...whatever. When the CEO offered this deal well he sold me decided and came back. What I am stating is what occurred with customer service and being able fulfill the 14th date was very bad. I am stating as well there is really no reason why I should not have my phone where other who waited do. I will not post some of the responses from supervisors, representatives have said as well as never providing any pertinent information why. Promises and then scripted responses. I have yet to hear back from the 24 hour email I have sent. There were other issues as well.
I am glad you have yours-sure it worth waiting for but what happened with CS and what is still happening was insulting.
Samsung has done a great job compensating...just finish what you promised-having the phone the 14th a true pre order.

It's really stupid too that Samsung won't allow you to pick it up in person which is alot safer than leaving it on the doorstep where it could be stolen
Verizon won't let their customers pick up at the hub until at least one delivery attempt is made, it's not just Samsung putting restrictions on deliveries.

Thank you! I have just left a voice voice-mail message and emailed her. I ordered the unlocked variant on September 6th, but haven't heard anything still. Very frustrating.

I did order a T-Mobile variant on August 27th, and I did receive it last week.
