Samsung (direct from them): Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

UPDATE: Guys, perhaps this will help someone... I spoke with a Samsung rep and they were VERY helpful! Now, I will say I was part of the Note 7 Promo crew, and ordered an AT&T version earlier this month. The customer service rep admitted that it was supposed to ship on or before the 15th, but due to the hurricane, there were some big delays to especially the Note 7 promo people. However, she said that they are working like crazy to ship out my "group" and that it still should ship this week. I'm very happy with the customer service and answers she gave. My phone is not important compared to the damage and things people lost in the hurricane, so Samsung CLEARLY get's a pass for a being a few days late on my cellphone.
 
I agree that in the grand scheme of things we have no right to complain. The devastation that has occurred as a result of Harvey and Irma are much more severe. But I'm still unsure why they say "especially the Note 7 promo people". Why are we especially effected as opposed to non Note 7 people?
 
So I finally got through to the Caribbean Call Center (Samsung's main center). The issue with the support line are due to one of the call centers being permanently closed because of hurricane damage. The call center handling the majority of the calls is from the Philippians (if I had to guess) and is just a short term emergency 3rd party hire until the Caribbean center can be opened back up again. This is why the customer service is so terrible.

I did not get an explanation why the shipment is delayed, nor did I ask for one, but she handled my questions and got my payment straightened out and was a big help.
 
got through Saturday after a four hour wait. they said they had no idea about shipping because all of that is controlled by the warehouse. then he told me because of all the back orders it probably won't be shipped until October 15. so possibly over a month wait.
 
I preordered a Black Sprint N8 as a former N7 user on 12 September - It still says "preorder", my card has not been charged, and I have not received a shipping notification. Should I be concerned that I have dropped into the abyss or just wait it out because of their issues with all the End of Days natural disasters? It's the end of the world, but I still needs me phone.

Considering high demand sounds pretty normal time to practice patience
 
I have question for the guys who have got their phone. I only going to receive the Note 8 and the wireless charger. The memory card still says Pre-order. do you have any idea, when am I going to receive the memory card?
I'm in the same boat. Had my phone and charger for a week. SD card status has not budged.

I would just cancel and buy or order from Sprint. Tmobile website shows it currently shipping so it appears carriers are not having an issue with stock. It's always like this with samsung phones ordering from them.
 
Ordered orchid grey ATT on 9/7. My status just changed from preorder to confirmed and my credit card was charged. Anyone know what that means? Any idea if that means my phone will ship today or tomorrow?

That means it will ship pretty soon, maybe withing the next 3 or 4 business days
 
My Unlocked Note 8 order changed from Preorder to Confirmed (ordered on 8/28, Note 7 Promo). I hope that means it's getting ready to ship (seems so based on some other earlier comments).

EDIT And here we are a couple of hours after I posted the above, and I just got my shipping notice! If it truly gets in FedEx's hands today, I should have it Friday. A week later than expected, but happy to be getting it...

EDIT And a couple hours later, FedEx has it and says it'll be here on Friday!

Just got my shipping notification on the FedEx app. I'll finally get my Note 8 by tomorrow. Glad I did 1 day shipping. Samsung site still showing confirmed. Hasn't changed to shipped. In the end I'm only getting it 3 days later than expected. Not terrible.
