Samsung (direct from them): Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

Just to let you know I am certainly not saying Samsung has not more than compensated for the Note 7 issue. I liked the V20 and was 80% going to the V20. Love the Note series but hate to say $949 ...whatever. When the CEO offered this deal well he sold me decided and came back. What I am stating is what occurred with customer service and being able fulfill the 14th date was very bad. I am stating as well there is really no reason why I should not have my phone where other who waited do. I will not post some of the responses from supervisors, representatives have said as well as never providing any pertinent information why. Promises and then scripted responses. I have yet to hear back from the 24 hour email I have sent. There were other issues as well.
I am glad you have yours-sure it worth waiting for but what happened with CS and what is still happening was insulting.
Samsung has done a great job compensating...just finish what you promised-having the phone the 14th a true pre order.

I get that the CS is not doing a good job of answering questions or doing what they say they are going to do. And that is a shame, no doubt. But I learned that from browsing these forums, so never bothered with trying to contact them. Figured it'd be a waste of time and energy. I appreciate good CS as much as the next person, so I get why it's causing so much hate and discontent. But it is what it is, and, like I said, dealing with some delay is just worth it to me for that steep discount for an old phone that has been in a drawer for 2 years.

Hope yours comes soon.

And I do not have my phone yet.

I am reaching out to you as a last resort for assistance on an order I placed. I have exhausted all options on your websites and customer service numbers. This is in reference to Order#

I have yet to receive my Note 8 that I pre-ordered on 8/27. I have not received an update as to the status at all. I emailed e commerce support on 9/12 and was told it would be delivered 9/15.
I followed up on 9/15 with phone support and was told I would receive it 9/16. On the afternoon of 9/16, I used the chat now section of your website and was told I would receive the phone by 9/20. I then called yesterday, 9/18, to confirm this so I could have someone at home to sign for the package. I was told yesterday that it would not be shipped out until October.

I don't even mind it being delayed, but no communication after being told something that was obviously false reflects poorly on the company and their product. As of this time, your website still shows the status as pre-order and I have not received any proactive communication from Samsung regarding the purchase. Please let me know what the status is of my purchase. My email is xxx in case you need it. Thanks,

I think as a whole, many, if not most of us, got our phone earlier than we expected as evidenced at the beginning of this thread. Understandably, many of the recent posts are from those who were frustrated with their pre-order experience. Everyone who preordered and did not receive their phone by launch date has a right to be angry. We still don't know how many pre-orders were submitted versus the available supply which might provide a better understanding of what happened.
 
Right. We know this broke pre order records, so were preorders really used to stock store inventory? Or once preorder stock was out, why not pull inventory marked for stores to use for fulfilling those preorders? IMO, preorders should have been shipped first. No matter what. Everyone had the opportunity to do so, so if inventory was short for release day, oh well. And I didn't preorder. It just doesn't seem fair for me to have walked into a store for my N8 when there are those who jumped to order asap and still don't have it. Idk what happened with this preorder situation. Just doesn't seem like it was logistically sound.
 
Thank you! I have just left a voice voice-mail message and emailed her. I ordered the unlocked variant on September 6th, but haven't heard anything still. Very frustrating.

I did order a T-Mobile variant on August 27th, and I did receive it last week.

Keep us posted if you get a response. I emailed also. Waiting for a reply. I'm not confident that I will get one but we'll see what happens.
 
Re: Trade in program. Am I too late?

According to Samsung's trade-in terms, "Samsung will consider your Trade-in Device received as of the date you give it to Samsung's authorized shipping provider with the prepaid return label Samsung sent you."

You've already met the deadline if you shipped it on Saturday, even if it does not arrive by the 20th.

TBH, I really don't see any excuse Samsung has for the Note 7 people. They had knowledge of how many people had the Note 7 and how many phones they needed to cover them. They Note 7 customers were supposed to have priority over others so their focus should have been on them first ad their phones shipped first before they even focused on the regular preorders which would have a reason to be delayed.
 
Former Note 7 owner and recently pre-ordered TMO branded N8 on 9/15 with $425 trade-in (LG G4). At that time said should ship week of Sept. 17th. I'm not holding my breath but I wanted to wait before ordering since I have no problems with my S7E but also couldn't pass up $425 for the N8. Who knows when it will ship because says back-ordered on my order summary but I don't need it right away either. Just wanted to post so people will get an idea of when they can expect their N8's for late pre-orders like myself. Will update once phone ships out.
 
So my Fedex tracker says that I should receive my phone today. But, the details of the progress haven't changed since Saturday 9/16. I was sort of expecting it to say "Out for Delivery" when I looked at my account today but it doesn't. Do you think I will still get it today?
 
Mine came today. Ordered 24th, Verizon edition, Black, Note 7 promo. LONG list of CS issues I wont go into. Funny thing is, they were double charging me - one charge for an order they canceled, and one for the new order. I called to straighten it out and currently I have no charge on any card. Lol
They just can not seem to get my order straightened out. Every time someone tries to fix one thing, they screw up something else. It has just been a (frustrating) comedy show of errors.
 
Just got a shipping confirmation for the phone and the wireless charger; delivery date for 9/21. So, as that's my original ship date; can't complain too much. I was just weirded out by the "back order" status.
 
Quick question, were folks' status going from "PREORDER", to "BACK ORDER"? Mine says preorder. No worries when the thing ships, just curious...
