Samsung (direct from them): Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

Former note 7 owner, I placed my order on 8/30, Verizon through the samsung website. Still no updates, the order page still says pre-order. How come some people are getting their's already?

I'm in the same boat and talked to Samsung...they told me all Note 7 customers should have their phones shipped by tomorrow...hopefully she wasn't just trying to make me happy

Weird thing is my order on Samsung's site doesn't have the tracking number anymore... I was sent a tracking number on Saturday but it contained no information..

I *think* someone on this thread, way back, said they called Samsung & were told a bunch of too early or bad tracking numbers were listed?

I'm curious to see if when you get your new tracking number, if it's the same one that was listed pre-maturely... Or maybe whomever was shipping them out, messed up and they're sending out via a new company? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It was said that Note 8 would be released on September 15th everywhere in the UK. I pre-ordered Dual-Sim Black Note 8 the same day it was announced. Now that I look at my order it says "Expected to ship from 28 September". WHAT!? I even booked a day off on 15th damnit!
If I check the gold dual sim version it says "Expected to ship from 14 September". Same for single sim versions.
Did they really just sneak-delay the black dual-sim version?

Former Note 7 owner and was told by phone won't be till September 21 or even October.

just received an email from them, and they mention that my order will be ship on 9/11 (ordered on the 8/26.) So I'm not sure how is it Former Note 7 owners get priority first, when people are starting to receive their shipping tracking #'s even if they are not former note 7 owners...

I was thinking of calling Samsung and asking if they would honor the trade-in offer still. I mean it's the phone that the whole offer is based around...

There seems to be very little rationale in this thread. Why complain when you are getting the phone earlier than the 15th? why complain when you're getting a phone overnight and weren't even charged the $14? Why complain when you ordered days after the pre-order began, and still expect to get the phone on the 7th like those of us who ordered on or around 8/24? If you aren't a former Note 7 owner and didn't order early, don't expect to get the same treatment as those of us who jumped on it right away. Nothing is unfair about that. What's unfair is bombarding Samsung reps with calls about things that are out of their control and your own individual faults.

You were 2 whole days late. I'm sure they meant former Note 7 owners who preordered first day. You can't expect to just jump the line days later.

I almost went with the black dual sim but couldn't think of a senario where it would be needed, hopefully the black standard one should ship on time.

I ordered first day and am i former note 7 owner. I paid for overnight shipping and am getting two day shipping and receiving it after people who've ordered after me. Can i complain?! Since i have checked every box on your list do I get to complain?

So when I ordered on the 29th I got a charge ($512) on my card but today there isn't a charge anymore is that normal? I'm using a debit card because I don't have a credit card.

Agree. Forced me to have to take a day off to sign for it instead of being able to pick it up after work.

So are you saying if I'm not home when it's delivered I can't go after work to pick it up at UPS? How does this work? I can't take off so I absolutely will never be home when they try to deliver.

You cannot. According to fine print, the phone cannot be on a black list of any kind. ..I'm pretty sure a recall would qualify as black listed.

You can go and pick it up at UPS. This person just decided to take the day off.

Yea, they'll probably leave a tag which you can use to pick up the package at the distribution center. Usually the next day, but sometimes, they'll allow you to pick it up that same day. I'm just impatient and don't want to take the chance of waiting 1 extra day. Alternatively, you can try what Travis Biggs suggested and get a hold of the manager at your depot to see if they'll hold it for you.

There have been times when a tag has been left for me at the door. In all those situations I've been able to go pick up the package the SAME day. I haven't experienced having to wait one more day before picking up a package.
