Samsung Galaxy A3 core wont switch off

[Android Central Question]

I have forgotten my Samsung Galaxy A3 cores pattern lock now the phone won't allow me to switch it off. I have tried both the up and down volume buttons with the power button but all it does is restart the phone. How else can I try to do a hard reset?

Why do you want to turn it off if you dont remember the pattern? Try power button for 30 seconds but your going to have to get in recovery mode to factory reset or log into Samsung remote site to unlock if your signed into your Samsung account on the device here
