Oh I know, and I agree. I just meant that it still seems like it might not yet be ready for prime time, yet they're charging the most premium price we've seen so far.

Perhaps people on this thread could be official alpha testers . . . Want one?

They're definitely not ready for prime time yet. I wouldn't buy one for at least 3rd generation... If ever. I have no use for that type of product. But if I'm Samsung or Huawei... There comes a point where you have to take risks. You have to shoot your shot. It'll be fun either way, to watch this tech grow.

Are you sure you're not interested? You've replied to this post a lot and invested a lot of time in a product you're "not" interested in... hmmm...

Huawei's device looks a lot better than Samsung but I don't think I'd be able to buy it in the states. And I definitely don't have a free 2 grand to buy. My best option would be this on a carrier leasing. But I'll wait for 2nd gen

This is exactly the problem. It’s a prototype phone that shouldn’t even be released in this form at all.

Well yes and no. It's a first gen phone but has been 10 years in the making. I wasn't disappointed when I got the first gen iPhone! Cudos to Samsung for thinking outside the square and it can only get better.

I don't see that as so expensive - you are getting basically 2 phones joined at the hip with the UI sorted so as to make it blend into 1. This is the first phone to excite me since the curved edge galaxy S6 & prior to that was the iPhone 4......but I won't live without my s-pennow

I agree about the S-Pen. I bought a Galaxy Tab S4 in December--super sale and I bought an open box, so they discounted that one too. I had also bought an iPad on Black Friday so I was going to return the one that I wasn't using after a couple of weeks of use.

Oh but the S-Pen!!! The iPad went back of course and I'm using the S4 all the time. Not a fan of the battery life though.

Turning this new phone into a Note variant was the first thing that came to mind.

People complaining about the price are hilarious. Do you all drive a manual transmission car with no power steering and no A/C? You can get sneakers at Walmart for probably like $40, but I bet you're wearing Nikes that cost 3 times that.

Put it into perspective, it's an upscale phone, it's not for everyone. You don't like it? You don't see the value in paying up for it? Then don't. Simple as that.

What a car has , has nothing to do with a phone.

Everybody looks to buy a new phone every yr or so.

We don't run out and buy a new car every year.

2000.00 is way too much for a phone..
What do we use a phone for.
To text, talk, and email.
We play on them
And look at what it cost to play.
Most of us is not running a business on a phone.

Internet in our homes is too expensive.

But it seems like nobody can live without it

Phones MFG are pricing themselves out of the market.

But if you feel it's killing you to go out and spend 2000.00 for a phone.
By all means, don't let me get in anybody's way.
