Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge - 24 hours and already scratched

Perhaps her diamond ring made contact with the screen of her phone when pulling it out of her pocket? Seems plausible, no need to throw the BS flag lol. Definitely not a fault of the screen if that was the case.

I agree. These things can and do happen. I have never had a Samsung screen get scratched myself.

You know what's funny? Before I replaced my phone through the 14 day guarantee, I purposefully removed the screen protector I had on so I can see how the phone would put up with 2 weeks of having 0 protection.

The phone only goes into my left rear pocket. Always.

When I was about to turn the phone in, I checked the screen through the sun and the amount of fine line scratches on there was UNBELIEVABLE. I couldn't believe it. It's invisible through fluorescent lights however sun light shows it all.

The first thing I did when I received my replacement was buy a screen protector.

Just started using mine today. While waiting for my screen protector and case im carrying mine in an Oakley sunglasses bag just to be safe

After my 4th day I noticed fine scratches on the bottom of my screen by the home button. Didn't drop it, had it in a case, just normal use. Hell, I was being extra cautious because it was a new phone. I think there's validity to the case of some phones being manufactured in different places and receiving a different type of "gorilla glass"

I have a very very fine scratch on the back of my phone near the bottom.....this sucks.

Y'all need to take better care of your phone. Bought a otterbox symmetry case and scratch resistant screen protector and my phone is perfect. Never dropped it or anything. Bought it on launch day.

No, phones do not randomly scratch. Mine was received on launch day and is scratch free. Case but no screen protector. I carry in a case on my belt. No pockets. All pockets can get dirt, sand, even from the laundry.

I believe that Samsung used some cheap @ss glass on these latest phones. There are a bunch of reports of scratched displays from normal use.
This sucks as it will be near impossible to find a tempered glass protector that will work on edge phones.

It's not Gorilla Glass 4, it's Baby Glass 1 :p

Here is a couple videos that showcase some scratches on the new phones.

Kevin has a large scratch on the lower gold part to the right of the home button:

On this video Flo shows scratches (about 30:00 in) received just taking the phone in and out of her purse.

You work for Apple?

Wow. Really shocked here. Was waiting for a tempered glass protector before I put anything on. Thought it could AT LEAST get me by a few weeks without any scratches.

My phone is fine but my wife's S7 Edge has a deep scratch in the center of the phone. She has been very careful and did not drop it at all. Only place it went was her pocket. I though Gorilla Glass 4 should have been AT LEAST able to handle some pocket handling?

Same thing happend to me. Within 72 hours. And now after a month it looks really bad due excessive little scratches.

I had mine only a few days before i scratched it. I put my keys in my pocket while holding my phone in my hoodie pocket and have 2 small scratches. The past 2 phones i had the s6 edge and the note 4. I didnt use a screen protector and didnt need it. I put it in my pocket, threw it in my purse and never got a scratch. So there is def something different with this glass they are using now. I use a zagg invisible shield but my case pushes the edges up. Very annoying issues i wish either zagg or samsung would address.

Skinomi sells a great screen friendly protector for the S7e. It covers the screen perfectly up to the starting edge of my Spigen Tough Armor case.

Don't most chemistry courses cover the Mohs scale? I know mine did.

Chemistry class is the reason I use a screen protector. Sand + the diamond studs in my ear lobes = nice try GG. You put up a crap fight.
Sounds like physical chemistry or chem e. Regular chem courses don't cover it.

Still no glass shield for s7e?
