Samsung pay denied no encryption

Cashiers and retailers still don't know the difference between Samsung pay and the others. Where I work they still insist that even tho the transaction completes and the customer gets a receipt, that they don't get paid for the sale.

LOL

Well apparently management has put a stop to SP/apple pay ect for there concern I guess they need to educate them self, it wasn't worth the conversation they had already made up there mind.!

So, how did they stop Samsung Pay? The pinpad can't differentiate SP from a card swipe. Did they eliminate all card swipes also?

They didn't do any thing physically to stop it, just said it won't be allowed to use, they would stop you in process or deny the transaction, the cafeteria I was in actually takes possession of your debit/credit card to swipe it on there monitor terminal

Doesn't seem right to me, but oh well. In 10 years time everyone will be on board.

A woman at Target thought the same thing. She went over to my self-checkout lane to make sure the transaction was paid, even though I had a receipt that said it was paid.

I don't understand how people can care so much at their $8/hour job.

A little education goes a long way and these merchants (University cafeteria or otherwise) needs to understand how the transaction works. If they deny it, then it's time to ask why and get answers above their heads. You can't just stop a transaction because you don't understand how the payment method works. I'm SOOOO glad it wasn't me there as I would go out of my way to prove a point. What are they going to do if I pay with that method anyways? Have campus police detain me, write a report and then it go on my permanent school record that I paid with a modern, SECURE, payment method that University employees don't understand? Sheesh, give me a break.

Next thing, they'll stop you when you have a chip in your card because their card reader is swipe only. Morons.

Sorry, idiots infuriate me first thing in the morning.
