The impossible just might have been declared possible. The Verizon mega locked bootloader has finally been unlocked, but not ready for the public . Some person found an exploit in the kernel that allows the bootloader to be unlocked, something called the TrustZone Kernel. I'm still not 100% sure if it's going to work or not but I'm hoping for the best so I can root unlocked, go to an older Android or maybe Cyanogen Mod ROM and root this phone.

I also have a 7 page PDF on how to exploit works and where the exploit is in the Kernel.

Whilst that does appear to be encouraging Josiah23, that post is some 5 weeks old and the only thing that has happened since then is that Verizon have released a new security update 36 hours ago.

Hmmm! I wonder if they have closed that exploit off as they did with the downgrade one, to Android 4.4.2.

Hmm, hopefully not. I'm never downloading any updates from Verizon again!

I no longer need to root this phone, I found something else to root.
