Seems like more folks are "meh" for Pixel 4 than excited?

Yep. And if not negative, a lot of folks are sticking with pixel 3 because they just don't see why they need to upgrade. The trade in deal (or lack of a deal I should say), is turning a lot of people off. I mean $260 for a pristine pixel 3 XL? Seriously? And they take away free unlimited original pic quality storage and they leave base at 64gb for the same high price? Dang, who is running the mobile department over there? I guess they will be selling less pixel 4s than they did pixel 3s. Such a shame.

If they sell less, that would be pretty bad... Especially that they didn't have carriers selling their phones. That could means the end of pixels.

Let's hope it doesn't come to that.

I'm excited about the Pixel 4 XL :) I have had every other Pixel phone and I can't wait to see what this one has to offer.
Same. I can't wait to get my orange XL next week. The 3 XL, for me, has been mediocre at best and I'm very excited to move on to the 4 XL.

Definitely not the best launch of a new pixel/google device. Let’s see the on hand reviews before we make final decision.

The Pixel 4 is meh because Google refuses to get serious about hardware.

There's nothing wrong with flexing your software strength, but hardware matters. It translates to better results in places where software simply cannot go. Google wants to pretend that software can carry it all the way. I don't understand why it can't be both. Putting in good hardware doesn't take anything away from your software prowess. It's really not rocket science.

If the battery life reviews continue to be disappointing, I will be canceling my pre-order. Google doesn't deserve to get away with a meh-smartphone at full price, especially when they're treating their customers poorly to begin with (the trade-in values for Pixel 3 models is a slap in the face).

I'm absolutely "meh" about it. I had thought I was going to upgrade immediately but I don't think I am anymore. Rather underwhelmed by this. Probably just stick w/ the 3XL until next release or maybe go back to Sammy. Not sure. Maybe it was just the presentation that was absolutely boring and not interesting. Once it gets into the real world, I may change my mind.

I'm pretty dang excited about the Pixel 4. I'm definitely looking forward to some of the new features.

I've never had a Pixel phone. And I was thinking about trying out the 4 XL until I heard there is no micro sd card slot, no finger print scanner at all or barely any onboard storage for 900 dollars. Seriously wtf? I don't know about previous versions of the pixel devices, but no expandable storage is a deal breaker for me. especially on a phone that is only 64 gb. I can't imagine having a device without a fingerprint scanner either.

I feel like marketing alone will be enough to move the Pixel 4. Google will provide material to carriers to feed to average joe consumers. "Best Android Phone", "Best camera on a smartphone. Ever." "The Smoothest and fastest, Android experience."

Just wait till they start bundling a nest mini smart speaker. People will bite.

The monthly payment will be slightly more than the iPhone 11 and cheaper than a Pro Max.

Its only the limited user base of the OG, 2, 3 and 3a Pixels that are aware of the "original quality unlimited upload perk."

It's clear that the Pixel 4 was intended for 1st time Pixel owners who come by way of carrier sales.

Pixel phones never had any expandable storage. But ya, giving you 64gb in 2019 is a joke.

Pixel phones aren't for you then. They have never had them.

I am not really in the market for a new phone. mainly because my 3 is still going well, and I can't justify spending that kind of cash for such minor upgrades.

Maybe you would have upgraded if Google gave you $450-$500 for your pixel 3? But when they give you measly $260, of course many won't.

I think this will be the first time in a few years I WONT be grabbing a pixel day one or pre-ordering. I was super hyped for the phone but honestly lost a little interest after the “keynote”.

I’m really blown at the little value for my P3XL which is mint at trade in, no more original quality photo backup, yet if I had an iPhone because of a setting in the phone you could. I was looking forward to the wide angle camera, not this year and POSSIBLE security issues with the face unlock. While I still might get the phone, it won’t be until after reviews come out about battery and possible Face ID fixes.

No interest in Samsung or one plus phones and sadly the thought of even trying out an iPhone crept in my head briefly, lol

For me the most "Meh" thing about it was the presentation. The reveal was so awkward and just boring as hell. I do agree that Google could have made just a couple hardware tweaks (Larger battery, More storage and a finger print reader) and really knocked it out of the park. but I am sure the phone will still sell well.

Yeah, they really had the chance to surprise many with some additional tweaks last minute like more base storage and bigger battery but failed. I’ll still probably get the phone but I’ll wait for a killer deal.
