No rush here, my original plan is to get P5XL.
After seeing the presentation, I would like to try it but since Google is trying to low-ball my trade-in value to $158, I will ride my P2XL for few more months
Why not?
It seems like they are more about the software than the hardware. That may be beginning to wear out the enthusiasm.
The person I quoted said it is a deal breaker if a phone doesn't have a SD card -- so a Pixel wouldn't be for them.
I’m not saying it’s a deal breaker, but why have we accepted no improved storage options?
I am not sure -- I never said anything. I am lost lol. I was simply telling the person Pixel phones aren't for them if SD cards are a thing they want.
Don’t be lost! Why not want better?
Where did I say I don't want better? My entire post was to respond to that one guy -- you seem to be going down a street as if I said WAY more then that but I didn't.
I traded my pixel 3xl with note 10+. Love it. What didn't work for you?I am excited about it. I'm going to try and go to BB and try out a display unit if they have one. It isn't a cutting edge device hardware wise...but I don't play games on the phone and having all the extra hardware specs really isn't going to provide a noticeable benefit for me. My previous Pixel devices have "just worked" and they never skipped a beat for me. I switched to a Note 10 + and I have been very disappointed. So I am eating the loss on the Note 10 + and looking forward to going back to my Pixel experience.
With all that said the only big concern I have is the lack of fingerprint sensor. I have quite a few apps that use it currently. If the Pixel 4 XL doesn't work out for me I will return it and get a Pixel 2 XL like i had before.
Please don’t make more of it than it is. I asked you a question. You can care to respond or not. Relax.
It was baffling to ask as if I said something I didn't.
If you are asking me why not want better I would say I do want better storage options but for me I don't count SD cards as a good thing.
That’s exactly what I asked!
I feel both Google and Apple, by the way, are offering us less options while raising prices. As consumers, we should not accept mediocrity. It may not be important to you, but other things may be. Let’s not just accept what they “give” us but let them know what we find important. To many, expandable storage is important.
For me the most "Meh" thing about it was the presentation. The reveal was so awkward and just boring as hell. I do agree that Google could have made just a couple hardware tweaks (Larger battery, More storage and a finger print reader) and really knocked it out of the park. but I am sure the phone will still sell well.
Even funnier..I agree, that was the worst phone reveal presentation I've ever watched. It was like every presenter was on Xanax or just woke up. Then that photographer lady added nothing and nearly put the audience to sleep, leaving about 10 minutes to talk about the camera.
Then have that engineer try to tell the audience wide angle might be just for fun...... YES Einstein, fun popular features sell phones to the masses!
I traded my pixel 3xl with note 10+. Love it. What didn't work for you?
I was actually considering getting the 64 GB version and the 1TB of storage from Google OneI just got back from BB. I like the device...they had the black version. I'm still excited for the 24th.
It is nice to have things like microSD expansion. The wide angle camera would have been nice. I still don't know how I am going to like the missing fingerprint sensor...but I suspect I can live with it. Storage doesn't really bother me because I have 1TB of cloud storage. Photos and videos get uploaded to the cloud automatically and purged from the device periodically. It is always nice to have more options though.
